The Manila Bulletin reported yesterday that welterweight titlist and international superstar Manny Pacquiao has been linked to an "attempted ambush" of a mayor in the Philippines. One of the vehicles used in the attempt is allegedly registered to Pacquiao's wife, Jinkee. The fighter has denied the charges that he was affiliated with the crime.


A report by SunStar.com.ph said police cited that one of the vehicles used by apprehended suspects in the attempt to ambush Yap was reportedly registered under Pacquiao’s wife, Jinkee

If Mayweather comes out and says he won't fight Pac cause he wants Roger in his corner to train him then I can understand that, just like if something were to happen to Roach and Pac said it. As long as he is willing to make Pac his next fight once this crap with Roger is over. I want to see this fight as much as the next guy but this isn't the fight to end all fights. Boxing will still move on with or without it. If this fight doesn't go through though what I don't want to see is a cherry picking shot at a JMW title. I like Pac as a fighter but no way will I pay to see him destroy Cotto again, or fight for a vacant WBC belt against a guy who looked like crap in his last fight, and the fight before that got destroyed by Mosley. Not to forget that he doesn't even have a license and did nothing to deserve a title shot in the first place. I bet the same amount of people would buy a fight with Tim Bradley even if Bradley isn't as well known as the other two, just to see Pac fight. Mexicans have pretty much turned their back on Margs, and I haven't heard many want to see Cotto get beatdown for a second time. Just my opinion.

looks desperate to land this fight OR just desperate to make people
believe that they want to. When was the last time that someone
negotiated like this through the media in boxing? We had a "Mayweather
has till this day" deadline story for WEEKS! Why would you want to put
pressure on a guy you want to do business with? On top of that. If
Arum has Cotto/Margarito as options, why all the fuss about Mayweather?
I feel that people thinking Floyd is scared to fight Pac is over doing it
just a lil. Arum and Konz are making asses out of themselves. Their
