arum is pissed off at hbo but he'll still do business with them.

the reason he's having more and more showtime fights is because hbo is cutting their budget plus hbo gave a ton of open dates to gbp before which screwed other promoters over. (screwed hbo too because gbp didn't have the fighters to fill those dates properly)

Margarito at the height of his hype became the biggest mexican boxing name at the time. This isn't 2007, btu the fight will do well, and it will be fun before Mararito gets stopped in 9.

        700K aint a failure son.

His other PPV's did well because they were against established, name opponents with large fan bases aswell.

fact is, the same ppl who looked at clottey's style, and saw manny beating him easily, are the same ones that will look at margarito's 1-dimensional, slow ass, and understand he'll be in for a beating also. especially, minus his wraps.
i'll give you the mosley fight but jmm? hell naw...that was a mismatch as clear as daylight eventhough floyd's coming back from 2 year retirement jmm is a lightweight. and you know it's a mismatch and you still bought it.
by the way, shane didn't fight for almost 2 years too prior to floyd fight.

Margarito's height of powers required another A side fighter and they combined to do 500000. Since then he's been KTFO and banished from America. Again, he had a PPV just a little while ago. 15,000 buys for his first bout in ages. 15,000.

                Again....15,000.

Cotto-Malignaggi did 100,000 buys, if not more. But yes...your first sentence says it all. He was fighting a nobody in Mexico. No more HBO, no more USA, no more NOTHING. He is damaged goods and his image is even worse. Pacquiao can carry him but so far (HBO back on board?). When I say it will flop, I don't mean 100,000 PPV-type flop. I mean, it will seriously decrease Pacquiao's bargaining position after this.

the village idiot still speaks! this ***** say that margarito is on the NEGATIVE now when it comes to popularity and media. and yet he would agree that floyd's ppv numbers consist of his fans plus ppl buying it to watch him lose which is a NEGATIVE too! what a ****** lmao.
