The only big thing that's keeping me from being excited this fight really, is that Margarito is a cheating POS...
but since he's obviously never doing it again, and he showed his tremendous heart by standing up to Shane as long as he did, i'm starting to open up more for giving him a second chance..
I just read this article about Arum's plans for the Pacquiao Margarito fight. And since he can't fight in the U.S, bob's planning to have the fight in Mexico in a brand new Arena.. I just felt really excited about the whole "event" and how Pacquiao is going back to Mexico where he first proved himself against the best Mexico had to offer.
And now that he's a legend, is going back, against a bigger stronger taller younger fighter in Margarito, who he could possibly lose against in his own country. It's an incredible drama to me.
I've been following Pacquiao since the beginning- not just the bandwagon.. and all of his most exciting and scariest fights were against mexicans in front of a mostly Mexican crowd. It had a very interesting vibe and feel to me.. especially because Pacquiao is representing my country not only to the Mexican crowd, but the entire world as well. Thinking about him fighting Margarito just brings so much Nostalgia.
*********Edit: BTW Arum announced he was thinking about having the fight at light middleweight for the vacant crown left behind by Sergio Martincez since Margarito is the top contender at that weight. So not only is Margarito at a huge advantage against pac because of the weight, which means a more intriguing and dangerous fight.. but he's also going for his 8th belt.. It's sounding better and better.
