Marquez VS Katsidis: The much greater fighter could be in for trouble?

Agree or disagree? Marquez has achieved, likely, far more than Katsidis ever will. He's also, in his third championship weight class knocked out two previously never-stopped lightweight champions that both beat Katsidis. Yet, I've heard several people say, and I am inclined to go with it, that Kat could be a very tough stylistic match-up for Marquez at this weight, at his age. I never thought Katsidis was a special fighter, but he's an aggressive powerhouse and he's not without the skill to be effective. I think Marquez will stop Diaz again if he's not shot and more shot than Diaz, but I''m on the fence about Marquez/Katsidis even if Marquez looks good with Diaz. What do you think? Does Katsidis have a very good chance to finally get a real strap (as well as THE title) against JMM? Do any of you actually favor him in this match-up?

Marquez is the strong favourite, but never count out a fearless, determined younger guy who can punch. Great fight if it ever happens.

There's definitely a possibility that it will and won't happen. Kat is next in line for the WBO challenging, I think and yet if a third Pac fight or a Khan fight becomes available and they decide to take it, it would be far more lucrative. They turned Khan down once, but I'm not certain that will stick.

At 135 Katsidis will win. Marquez is done.

Marquez, the great counterpuncher, had a life-and-death beattle with Juan Diaz last year. The Juan Diaz that was soundly outboxed by a c-level Paulie Malignaggi twice.

Katsidis has improved a lot since his loss to Juan Diaz as well.

Even if Marqeuz beats Diaz again I doubt he'll give Katsidis a shot at the title.

He'll most likelly go for the bigger payday. Either Pac or Khan as you mentioned. However, it seems as if Arum wants Pac to fight Cotto or Tony so I guess the only real option left is Khan.

          Khan vs Marquez.

But anyway i would favor marquez by ko in the later rounds. But still

marquez shot or not would ko katsidis no doubt

katsidis was beat up by an old and faded casamayor who knocked katsidis out even though he put up a great fight

diaz won a shutout over katisidis but got a weird split decision result

katsidis does not know what to do against fighters technically more sound than he is and he doesnt have the best chin either. hes got a punchers chance though

I'm not sure, we all know that Marquez is a much better boxer... but, how will he take Kats power? Diaz rocked him in their first fight a few times, and he isn't a known puncher, and I still think Mayweather could've stopped him if he hadn't fought so safety first...

I'm leaning towards Marquez to win though, he didn't look shot against Diaz, he can still punch a bit, his hand speed is still there, but if Katsidis can get close all night he will give him some trouble.

Prime for Prime - Marquez No question.

Right now tho its a tougher call Kats looked great against Mitchell (who can fight) and JMM is slowing down getting hit more and is hurtable, its a hard fight to call but i know there will be lots of blood and real action!

Although i feel Marquez is there for the taking lets take a look, KO's Diaz in FOTY jumps TWO divisions up and lasts the distance with the best fighter on the planet, returns and puts on a clinic over Diaz. He is still perfoming well.

Marquez is the better fighter, he has to be the pick.
