    PREDICTION thread for Saturday 7/16

we're 5 days away from the big PPV event on the 16th, what are your predictions for the upcoming bouts? I've got mine listed in the sig. area (scratch Montiel-Morel of course)....& I'll also take Forrest by UD10 over Rios, I expect nothing but distance fights on Saturday, but who knows?

round one- nard comes out strictly looking to avoid the storm. When taylor realizes he cant land any power punches on nard he resorts to fighting tall with the jab. Nard will then switch from conventional to southpaw and counter the jab with his overhand left on taylor all night and go on to win the fight (or maybe stop taylor if he continues to trade jabs for overhand lefts)

This is the toughest fight I've ever had to call. Right now I got Bernard on points, but there are so many intangibles to consider in this one. Predicting this fight correctly will prove nothing.

Hopkins by a competitive but decisive unanimous decision. He's going to pick apart Taylor with his own beautiful jab and sneak right hand from the outside...and he'll rough him up on the inside with short hooks and uppercuts. Taylor better defend himself after he puts his jab out there because Hopkins will counter that once he gets used to it and once Taylor shows him angles.

I think Larios will win a wide decision in a competitive fight. McCullough will do just enough to lose 8-9 rounds, but will make it look like a close fight.

I think Forrest will win a fairly close decision and will show the ring rust from his layoff. He will establish his jab though and it'll be enough to get him a good win.

well when does it ever prove anything? It's just a prediction, I'm not gonna mortgage the pad to bet on B-Hop or Taylor like all of those crazy Detriot Hearns fans did when he fought Sugar Ray....they're just harmless, good-4-nothin predictions that help pass the day at work and that can make for fun conversation/debates

Well, if you know a fighter and predict what he does (me picking Corrales to KO Castillo in 10 for example), it's impressive. But we don't know enough about Taylor to predict the outcome of this one. If you get it right, it's complete luck as far as I'm concerned. I hope Taylor wins, but got a feeling Hops will.

Tayler by UD. I see Hopkins being seriously hurt or even put down at one point. Too much of everything comin from Tayler. Tayler might be nice outside the ring, but when it's fight time, it's NO MERCY!

Although I'm gonna stick to my Hopkins UD12 prediction, I could easily see Taylor pulling a Michael Grant and freezing in the spotlight, he's been babied around for a few years vs. junior middleweights and an ancient Jalopy, er Joppy.....I'm interested in seeing how Taylor reacts to the 1st big hook or straight right counter that B-Hop lands, this will tell us what Taylor's all about
