Vitali dominated Lennox Lewis and Chris Byrd, but a ****** doctor and a freak injury stopped him from winning those fights. Vitali could've easily been undefeated today.

The doctor couldve stopped it after the 3 if he wanted. Vitali was given 4, 5, AND 6 to redeem himself and that is a lot more than most fighters get with such a severe cut. Watch Vitali/Puritty if you want to see a bogus stoppage. Puritty wasnt even bleeding LOL.

Chris Byrd was favored to wear Vitali down in the pre-figt analysis by Jim and Larry. There was nothing freakish about either fight, vitali simply lost to the better men.

Vitali obviously isn't one of the greatest HW in history because of his rather weak resume. His biggest achievement is losing to Lewis while being ahead on the scorecards.
Nonetheless, Vitali would be a competitive HW in ANY HW era
