Cotto vs Branco.. plus other matchups...

According to Rabbitpunchboxing.com Miguel Cotto will fight again September 24th on the undercard of Vitali Klitskho's next fight. He will fight former Gatti opponent Gianluca Branco. Also Shane Mosley has been added to the card of Barrera vs Peden. Mosley is listed as TBA. Mayweather could have been a possibilty but talks died after Mosley wanted more money than Floyd.

Wont let me link up but its on main page of www.Rabbitpunchboxing.com/

If this all turns out to be true it isnt very impressive.. I dont wanna see Cotto fight Branco. I wanna see Cotto vs Floyd,Hatton,Witter or anyone who can make some noise in that division. Hopefully Mosley fights someone good as well. Since Judah is booked.. maybe Margarito?

yeah thats true. Look at it this way though. Cotto just came off an impressive victory IMO in beating Abdulaev in some regards. Abdulaev beat him (arguably) in the amateurs. It seems good to me, considering Pinto beat him....and he avenged both losses. Lets not forget Abdulaev is no slouch either. Mosley fighting Margarito right now.....would be dangerous. I have said Mosley would beat him, but looking back I think he might have a tougher time than expected with Antonio's length......at this point. Mosley needs to fight a couple of tune ups at this weight, before challenging the bigger names.

Harris....I really dont think would last with Cotto. If Maussa's slow hands got to him.....you could imagine what Cotto would do to him. Floyd seems to be seeking the big money fights at 147 with Judah, or even a DLH (supposedly). Floyd should be fighting Hatton for the unification, and Cotto should DEFINITELY fight a bigger name opponent at 140.....such as Chito Bojado....before fighting the one's you forementioned. Given he beats Branco with ease like he should.

i think the cotto fight is a decent step up. branco went the distance with gatti, n won af ew rounds. still has only 1 loss on his record, never been stopped. so we gotta c if cottos power will stop him

Yeah thats a good way to look at it all but I just feel that Branco is to big of a step down from Abdullaev.. If not a big fight for Cotto now, maybe a re match with Corley? Just to clear up the contraversy..I dont know just anything but Branco, that guy is a feather fisted bum. Besides that horrid decision with Gatti.. he has never fought anyone with a pulse. I just think Cotto should take on someone a little higher calibur.. but hey its boxing..

He hasnt been stopped thats impressive.. I guess. He hasnt fought anyone what so ever besides Gatti. Also the word from overseas is to get back over the loss of Gatti they put him in with glass chin fighters with blown up records to give him some KO's. The guy just doesnt impressive me what so ever.

yeah, exactly my thoughts. Cotto did engage in a controversial stoppage of Corley....but then again he did stop him. In coalition with his destruction of Maussa, who inadvertantly beat Harris, his stoppage of the durable Ray Martinez....and others.....he should walk through Branco like a hot knife through butter.

dont pre-order your ticket. Chances are Quitali is not going to do that to say the least.
