Good points! For one, I do know that Filipinos discipline (100% of Pinoys who grew up in their homeland) of their children would require a multitude of hitting (fear is a great motivator) as form of discipline not by hand but by "belts, belt buckles, 2x4 woods, machetes, crow bars, hazing paddles, and whatnot". Their discipline might be questionable for us who do not fully understand their culture but, statistics show that their children are one of the most disciplined if not the most discplined in the world or in our schools. Meaning to say, their discipline might be unorthodox but it sure works!Basically, if you grew up in the Philippines 100%, and belong to the poorest of the poor families, chances are you have already endured "hell" when you are growing up. Getting hit and hurt by these stuff everyday would make you otherwise immune to all these physical form of punishments for just a kid growing up. And as time goes, your pain threshold will improve. I am almost certain that Filipino kids (or 3rd world families who employ this kind of discipline through physical punishment) can tolerate pain by a mile than those kids who grew up in countries where child laws are practiced and followed.
All of the above are from what my understanding of their culture came about since I knew a lot of Filipinos from where I work. They might be lying, as I see that discipline thru the most hellish of physical punishments is unreal. But, I have seen their kids and I couldn't find something to pick on them. It's odd to me but they must be doing something right! Right?

He has a good chin. Cotto wasn't planting his feet to bomb away on Pac. He was fighting off the back foot, really using offense as defense just to keep Pac off of him. Those ain't the kind of punches that are gonna hurt a guy. Cotto's power was neutralized.Comment

Filipino kids (100% who grew up most of their life in their country) has got more than a fair share of the most hellish form of physical punishments ever known to kids in the richer nations. This is almost everyday even when they just made a simple mistake.
Practice makes perfect right? It looks like these pinoys (most of them) have a higher pain tolerance than most other nations' common people. And if it is true that pacquiao is from rags to riches then, he must have overcome his growing up with the discipline of his Mommy Dionisia (a known disciplinarian in their country). If Pacquaio can take everyday hazing easily like an American getting their cold air from their air conditioner then, by no means Pacquaio can tolerate even the hardest of punches.
I guess Pacquaios pain tolerance is higher and improved than most who grew up boxing from richer nations. I mean he gets this kind of training ever since he was like 5-6 years old!Comment
