Some of ya'll are failing to realize that in Floyd's last two fights he has taken the challenges that Pac deemed too risky ie. JMM and SSM, right????? Riiiiiiiiight. So in the event that this fight is not made this go around, you best believe that Floyd is gonna pick a challenging opponent(Don't be surprised if we get a Floyd/Martinez match at 154, he's gonna one up Manny in opponent choice, and we all know Manny team wouldn't dare speak Sergio's name).

Honestly TR is doing waaaaaay too much talking; again, as usual. And if anything this is hurting the talks more than helping it.
I think Pac kills JMM at 147. What Floyd did was use the #2 p4p as a sparring partner. Pac will want to make sure he doesn't have to hear about JMM again. I would love to see Martinez vs Floyd at 154. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

          • I agree with the article partly...

Floyd said he wanted full random blood testing and a bigger purse split.

Arum then announces that the terms are sorted, but refuses to say what they are.

Isn't it fairly likely given his track record that Arum just offered Floyd 50/50 and a 14 day cut off, and then claimed everything has been agreed to?

I'm not a fan of Floyd's, and I do think he's ducked the best competition consistently since moving to welterweight. He even made Hatton move up in weight, and Hatton was custom made for a guy like him.

But judgment should be reserved until both sides of the story come out and we find out exactly what the terms offered were.

Than again if he didn't insist on only using Golden Boy as his co-promoter and he wasn't enemies with Oscar they might be speaking up for him a little more.

            • I just wonder what the reason is gonna be this time if the fight isn't signed. I got a feeling it won't be Pacquiao who'll be under the microscope this time around, but I could be wrong.

I say they both have till this month to make a decision. I really don't wanna see Cotto vs Pac II and I can't imagine who Floyd would fight or if he'd even fight at all.

Besides, people who are obsessed in a man's PPV and money earnings is ****ing gay!
50-50, is more than fair for both parties, IMO. I am trying to see this scenario from both parties perspective (Pac and May). I agree with with this Fitzsimmons article for a few reasons. Mayweather is a first ballot hall of famer, no doubt. But at the end of the day, he may very well go down as a fighter who had "greatest of all time talent", but never challenged it. He secured his hall of fame legacy with who he fought at 130, 135(Genaro Hernandez, Angel Manfredy, Diego Corrales, Carlos Hernandez,Jesus Chavez, Jose louis Castillo), and possibly 140 with the Arturo Gatti beat down. Mix in Shane Mosley, Ricky Hatton, and Zab Judah and he has had some nice performances at 147. I understand that boxing is a business, but for a fighter with his type of talent, cleaning out the welterweight division was expected. Although he still has time, he is leaving the boxing fans and public with to many, "What if's". The respect he gained from the Shane Mosely drumming will be dissipate, if this fight with Manny is never made. Boxing is a "what have you done for me lately" kind of sport. As unfair as it may sound, Floyd needs to make this fight. For all we know, the fight may be a done deal. I don't have enough information to tell, because we have yet to hear from Haymon, Ellerbee, or Floyd. But if either one of these two fighters want to be mentioned in that G.O.A.T category, they need to fight each other and nobody else. Time to man up and give the fans that fork over the dough to complete that 50/50 what they really want to see.

I find it amusing that so many *******s are praying this fight doesn't get made and their god doesn't get exposed. don't worry, the time will come, & sooner then you think.

LOL. They want their hero fully juiced up for this one.

"Please let him use PEDs, Floyd, please! How else is he supposed to win??"

                    • Lol can't play both sides of the fence and then expect to either be embraced or shunned, that's not how the game is played.

In any event, this article was balanced/measured in tone and appropriately so. Lyle made sure as to temper his argument, by lauding Floyd's abilities. This wasn't a unilateral dissection of the man, just another observation as to how he operates without rhyme or reason.

This has been stated by many others, if his (May) demands have been met (meaning Pac has agreed to every demand) and we still don't know this to be case, then why even enter into negotiations if you're natural intent was to back out in the first place? Legitimate question.
