    He was never down.

He was stunned in the first round by a left hook but nothing real bad.

if Briggs can get in shape and settle his asthma issues somehow so he can fight for 12 hard rounds, then I'm all in for a showdown against Vitali

Shannon Briggs in shape is much better and experienced than all the tomato cans Vitali lined up lately, plus he has size and power

I say give him a shot and see what he can do

Yes, if Briggs can do what he's never done before.

never done before ? why is that ? he was in shape when he fought both Lewis and Foreman

he (shoud have) lost both fights, but he was in shape

He was gassed by round three when he fought Lewis and did nothing but win by robbery against Foreman.

well obviously he punched himself out in the first round trying to put Lewis away

I haven't seen a lot of his prime fights, so I can't say whether he has always had bad stamina... but I know he didn't lack stamina when he went 12 with Foreman, regardless the fact that he won by majority robbery decision if I recall right

He's always had stamina issues. That and steroid issues. Briggs doesn't deserve this shot, end of story.

Briggs is a bum and has no heart. I thought he quit years ago when he took a dive or qiut or gave up and didn't want to fight anymore. Briggs has no desire and is just looking for a paycheck at 40 that's it. If this fight happens it it a sham and should be stopped.

no the story is not over

because Vitali considers this fight and still has the WBC belt

Briggs doesn't deserve this shot, I agree with that
but I think he could give a better fight to Vitali than the other tomato cans he's fought

what about Sosnowski, Johnson ? were they more deserving ? NO
the rankings (almost) don't mean ****

                      No. They all weren't deserving.
