Lightweight prospect Hammerin' Hank Lundy (18-1) spoke to BoxingScene.com after suffering his first professional loss, an 11th round TKO to John Molina Jr. (21-1) on last Friday's edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights in one of the network's more entertaining fights of the year. Lundy controlled most of the fight until he was caught by a thunderous, chopping overhand right hand to the head that sent him to the canvas in the 8th round. Lundy showed tremendous heart and got up and was able to finish the round but the tide of the fight had changed. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Good fight the first time around -
It was a decent scrap, Lundy was winning early, just about had his cap peeled in the 8th....Was the stoppage a lil premature? yes, but did the ref have a good reason for it? Yes.....as Molina was throwin crazy punches in bunches in the 11th, he clipped Lundy with one and Lundy's hands dropped and he tipped a lil forward.....thats all the ref needed.......Comment

Nothing premature about the stoppage. He was trapped against the ropes, he got hit with some big punches and his arms and head were slumped. He got KO'ed.Comment

Nothing premature bout this stoppage.....Lundy was going down either way...WTF was he doing holding on to that rope any how?? The stoppage was sound IMO. Lundy was unravelling around the time of the stoppage and you could see he visibly slumped from the effects of the punches while he was on the ropes, which is all a ref needs. He could have been seriously hurt had it been allowed to continue.Comment

It was a bit early of stoppage but there is no way he was recovering. 10 more seconds and TKO would have been totally justified or he would have been hanging on the ropes listless.Originally posted by BIGPOPPAPUMP View PostComment

The knockdown in the 8th was killer...I like how he got up saying he slipped...The way he landed was crazy..ahh good times..Give the man a rematch...His chin or wont get any better...He ran out of gas..He couldnt keep up the pace.. He would box great in the beginning of the round then towrds the end he would fade. Molina wasnt throwing enough though..i was getting irritated..Comment
