because he was allowed to fight, and defeat Kostya Tszyu, in the dirtiest of fashions. I'll never forget when he grabbed Tszyu by the shoulders, spun him around, and let one fly at the back of Tszyu's head. Classic homer bull****.

Because he beat four excellent fighters on a row then gave Floyd one of his toughest fights. Cortez or not, Floyd wins that fight, but it could have been a lot closer than it was.

He was a hard to beat fighter who won his fights thats why he was top 10. But time moves on, and hes not now. But he was a while back. But nothing is set in stone.
Someones got to be in the top 10 and why not hatton?

Demarcus Corely gave Floyd a tougher fight than Hatton. With that said Hatton was a solid fighter and I disagree with the ts about his style, I thought Hatton was pretty entertaining.

            thread FAILED!

            yeah floyd stopped hatton
            because he chose to fight
imagine if shane and marquez wanted to fight !
they both would have been stopped also !
hatton did better than both of them combined and thats a fact

Hatton had no defence and was tagged on a regular basis. Hatton was nearly KOed several times. His style was horrible to watch basically looking to punch himself out then clinch.

Yes he had a great fanbase but he was a very limited fighter and has to be one of the most overrated fighters going.

What did he do that made people rate him as one of the ten best fighters in the sport ?
if u win all the belts in your division dont that make u kinda good, ok his style is not the best I have to agree, against Paulie he showed he could be more than just a slugger.

It goes like this......Zab was THE MAN @ 140 due to his exceptional skill set and K.O. power(we didnt know about his lack of dedication yet)Tszyu while nothing special, rocked Zab then Hatton(38-0 at the time) upset Tszyu.
So in essence Hattons misleading record combined with him beating the man who beat the man had him looking like p4p material

cmon man floyd was in a real fight with hatton and would of been till it finished. Hatton gave his all and while floyd won comfortably he knew hatton alwayS believed he could still win with one flurry or combination.

Compare that to SSM and marquez who basically fought to surrvive he was a much tougher opponent yet having so much less skill than SSM and JMM.
