Both Top Rank and GBP are in the business of making money. It would be one thing if both sides couldn't come to a compromise to make the fight happen, and though there's no official word, I think I can say in confidence that the negotiations this time around may have gone much smoother than prior, so I truthfully can't see what will prevent this fight from happening. People will be quick to mention purse splits, but the truth is either way it swings, it won't be anything detrimental to fight not happening...otherwise I believe both parties would have gone their separate ways a while ago.
That is wishful thinking and, based on Arum's comments that the proposal sent over was 50-50 & a 14-day cutoff, I'm not so wistful. If they did indeed send over a proposal consisting of that, they have no intentions of making the bout happen...and you will see what I said come to fruition.

Floyd doesn't really want to risk his 0 to Pac. Useless OST, deafening silence and enjoying his retirement. Its written all over his face.

everybody keep saying mayweather doesnt want to fight pacquiao...............mayweather made it clear after his fight with mosely that if pacquiao take the test they can fight..................i don't beleive pacquiao agreed to any test............i think the papers that was drawn up is bull**** and if mayweather don't comply every hater out there is going to say he is dodging pacquiao.

There are far better fights out there for both participants. Pac has Cotto and Margarito. Mayweather has Matthew Hatton and Henry Bruseles's youngest son "Lil" Seles, or Boo-Boo as they refer to him in preschool.

You're forgetting that it's not just Top Rank sending the proposal, but also GBP...who promote Mayweather. So would that mean GBP doesn't want the fight either? I find that a little hard to believe.

GBP has made no such statement. None.

Yap. Their silence about the negotiation was also really deafening.

Boxing fans need to take less notice of what they read on fansites. Seriously.

Listen. Boxing negociations do not work by Bob Arum throwing out offers, and Floyd Mayweather accepting them.

It's just the guy doing what he always does. Wanting to sound like he's controlling things, and is in charge of the fight. When in reality, he will have little influence over any of the fights details.

A bout is negociated between both fighters teams. It then gets "due dillegence". Which is a period of time where the fighters lawyers look through it, and basically sign it off.

The fight was negociated, and agreed. Now it's with lawyers. It's nothing to do with Bob Arum making offers, and it being up to Mayweather to accept them.

Arum has next to no influence over this fight. Pacquiao's deal with Golden Boy means that they basically take sole control of any bout he has with another Golden Boy Fighter.

Arum only owns Pacquiao when he faces none-goldenboy fighters. Why Arum hardly ever puts him in with GBP opponents.

The fights been signed by neither fighter as of yet. When it is, it will be on

lol at this. you think if GBP wanted to refute all the interviews arum and koncz made that they (both TR and GBP) agreed on a deal, they wouldve done so by now and called arum a liar?

what do you want, oscar publicly saying 'i second the motion'?
