....Pinklon Thomas says that Tommy Morrison punched harder than Tyson and he fought both guys. Freddie Roach says that Wlad has bigger one punch power but Tyson put his in combo's and made them more effective.

Larry Holmes thought that Tyson's power wasn't as strong as some other heavyweights he fought even though he got KTFO'd...

Tyson had the mental speed to hit his opponents while they were unprepared. It's not only about power. The older Tyson lost his mental edge and his power went away - not because he hits softer, but his opponents know when the punches are coming. Tyson can't knock out Danny Williams or Kevin McBride now, even though he punches as hard as ever.

Tyson certainly did not punch as hard as the likes of Foreman and Shavers. But what Tyson had is more sharpness and accuracy, his punches were quick and hit the right spots and he was just so sharp with such timing. I'm talking about his prime here, 86-88.

James "Quick" Tillis said that Mark Wade(?) and Frank Bruno hit harder than Tyson. By all accounts Bruno had one of the hardest punches of the heavyweights, but lacked the skill to land effectively.

Bruno did win that test they did measuring punch power, equivalent to a sledge hammer or something if I remember. Ruddock was second, Foreman third, I think Tyson fourth. Anybody have any more info on that? It was in the late 80's.

The test i read about had Tyson on top, and Frank Bruno second. It said something like Tysons punch was equal to a 20 pound sledge hammer hitting you at 40 mph, and bruno's was a 14 pound hammer hitting you at 20 mph. In the test i saw Tyson dominated.

I can believe that, Morrison was a puncher, that coupled with his **** chin he made for entertaining fights.

Danny Williams said Mark Potter(Pictured below) punched a lot harder than Mike Tyson.

Yes but when Williams fought Tyson he was already pretty old and lost a lot of handspeed...
