BoxingScene.com was advised by Josh Dubin, manager for Kermit Cintron, that a September fight with WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm is very unlikely to happen. BoxingScene reported last week that Sturm's team reached out to promoter Lou DiBella to secure Cintron as the opponent for a show in Germany on September 4. DiBella said the offer from Sturm's team was "very low." [Click Here To Read More]

I would low ball Cintron as well.
There is a 50% chance the guy will quit on himself and ruin the event with his embarrassing antics.
Pay somebody else who is only half the fighter Cintron is but has 10x the heart. Shouldn't be hard to find him.Comment

A shame. I'd love to see that fight. Anyway it would be very risky for Sturm considering his long absence from the ring.Comment

I'm tired of seeing Cintron rewarded for being a quitter.
I would love to see Sturm challenged, I would just prefer someone aside from Cintron.
I honestly don't think Cintron would pose much of a challenge and I am baffled by the fact that his name is even under consideration.
Cintron has not won a single fight at Middleweight in his entire career, he never won a belt at 154, and he was only able to win a belt at 147 because crafty matchmaking got him a shot at a vacant title against a no name fighter.Comment

Well he did do well against Williams before the dive incident, which has to be be the oddest thing in boxing since fan-man.I'm tired of seeing Cintron rewarded for being a quitter.

In some strange way I feel sad for Kermit TBH, although I cannot give a reasonable explanation to what happened in the pwill fight. In essense I'd like to see Williams give Cintron a rematch. I think that would be the honourable thing to do.
As for Sturm, well let him fight some euro or second-tier yank and then bring Pavlik to Germany. That would be a great fight.Comment

If it were only the Williams incident with Cintron I would feel sorry for him as well.
I feel like he gave up both times against Margarito, embarrassed himself against Martinez and I also think his antics after the Feliciano fight were strange and unprecedented.
I don't think we will ever see Sturm challenge himself against the best. If he were going to do it he would have already when there were bigger names and more money on the market.
I think a Pavlik fight would be great, but I can't imagine Sturm's team doing anything but lowballing Pavlik as well.
Pavlik won't take short money AND go to Germany when he can probably make much more and only travel to Montreal if he is willing to meet Bute at 168.Comment
