Regardless of what side of the fence everyone is on with Pacquiao vs Mayweather, I think everyone should be in agreement that if we want the fight to happen this year an announcement SHOULD be made really soon to get the promotion machine up and running. I can't knock Pac's team for setting up their plan B, but unfortunately for both Mayweather or Pacquiao...the Plan B either way you look at it is a letdown.
I honestly think they have until the end of the month to announce it, and they wont anytime soon. 3 and a half months is more then enough time for promoting the fight. & that's working off the assumption that the fight will be in November and not some other date, we really don't know.
@Coach-Webb, so, who is Floyd's trainer? Roger Mayweather? Sorry, he is going down, there is so much evidence against him you won't be seeing him around for a while. And when does Floyd Jr. listen to his trainer anyway? The guy goes by his own rules. He wanted the ODLH rematch to get the big money then walked away. So, anything his trainers, yes men, etc say means nothing. I am saying the last time Mayweather said anything, what did he say? Not his trainers, etc, what did he say? You know the funniest part about these forums, you use an exact quote a fighter made and God be damned, if someone loves that fighter, he twists it around to benefit himself. I know Arum is a ****bag, everyone in boxing is, including Don King, Gary Shaw, Goosen, etc. all they care about is the almighty dollar. What does Floyd Jr. really want? I think he wants enough money to retire for good but doesn't have it, so, he really doesn't know what he wants....
I think we've seen this played out before. Arum & co. have the contracts in place and are "ready to fight", while at the same time talking about other fights they could make. The most important news this week wasn't some proposal that Arum sent Mayweather. It was that Pacquiao's adviser had flown to Puerto Rico to discuss a rematch with Miguel Cotto. I'm hoping I'm wrong but it's hard to ignore the obvious. History is repeating itself. And for those who think a 50/50, 14-day cutoff is fair...just stop it. If Arum thought it was really fair he wouldn't have tried to hide those numbers initially (until someone leaked that the proposal wasn't all it was cracked up to be). Anyway, whether it's Arum or Manny, someone doesn't want this fight to happen. Mayweather has made no overtures about fighting another possible opponent. He's been silent and will remain so as his side tries to make the fight happen. Just like the first time, when they sat at the negotiating table and watched everyone get up and leave. Some things never change, man.
Is 50/50 and 14 day cut off is the proposal that got send to Floyd?
Floyd is a *****. Period. We all knew he woujdnt take the fight. This is how it will happen, at the end of July Floyd still will not have responded, Paq's team will announce a new opponent, then Floyd will sign the contract, declare that Paq is ducking him, and all Floyd's diehard dumbasses will believe him.
I laugh when i hear the whole "floyd is a *****, he'll never sign, we haven't heard a word from him" cause it reminds me of the Mosley negotiations. Don't worry haters, soon he'll sign and you can move on to "I'll believe it when he steps in the ring".

What do you mean who is his trainer? Its Roger Mayweather. That doesn't change the fact that Roger debunked Floyd's "retirement" nonsense. And its a good thing he walked away from the De La Hoya rematch, no one wanted to see that again. But please, don't compare that, with this fight with Manny. They are on two different planets in terms of importance for their respective careers and the sport as a whole. What does Floyd Jr really want? Send him a tweet, maybe he will respond to you. I believe, he wants to fight Manny as evidenced by the effort in trying to make the fight last time around, the dominating performance over Shane, and his silence during negotiations (like always). Things have now changed in going about making the fight, but I hope it gets done.
