If this is on FNF I don't see how anyone can complain. It's going to be an awesome knockout, hopefully if we're lucky knockout of the year.

Bute is doing exactly what I would be doing - waiting, but still fighting relatively soft opponents - until the supersix fighters and/or kelly pavlik become available.

If Edison Miranda and Bute were on HBO then Brinkley really should be as well as he is a better fighter than Miranda and actually earned his title shot.

Fans should be ecstatic that this one is on ESPN.

I'm excited that this is on ESPN, get to see Bute fighting without having to tune in late for a fight. Should be a good scrap, Brinkley isn't just come club fighter, the guy has earned his shot.

Because outside of the super six, what other fights can be made at super middleweight that are big? None, besides Pavlik vs Bute.

I agree Bute would do damage on Kelly, but I think Kelly would be a game fighter, he had his good moments against Martinez, people forget that and Palvik is a much, much better fighter than Brinkley lets be real here folks.

Please , please stop with Pavlik. He is not in the same class as Bute. Pavlik is way over rated. Nobody should talk about him. And at that level nobody is afraid of no one.Bute can take any fighter that will be propose to him. He is the king at 168.

espn doesn't broadcast boxing in october-it's all about baseball playoffs that month (and college basketball). i'm thinking the chances they pick this fight up is slim to none

Who, in their right boxing mind compares Kelly Pavlik to Jesse Brinkley???

Brinkley's record is full of crappy opponents, his defense is swiss cheese, has medium power and boxing skills.

Pavlik's record is stacked with talent, solid defense, KO power and medium boxing skills.

Bute is stuck until the super 6 is over, the only worthy opponents i see before then are Pavlik and Jermain Taylor when he's re (after a tune up of course)
