Some of you guys are bull****, Bute vs Brinkley on ESPN FNF and the only thing you guys talk about is **** because Brinkley doesnt have the best record in the world. Nothing is ever good enough, the fans are hurting the sport these days.

I've been saying it's the fans that are killing the sport for awhile now, and this is another great example.

Nothing is ever good enough, fans actually support their favorite fighters ducking, fans accuse innocent fighters of being cheats, fans watch free streams instead of paying for fights, most "fans" have never even attended a fight and yet argue constantly about "who draws more fans".

I am one of the posters who is most critical of Bute and his career choice but if he is going to fight opponents like Brinkley, at least he is doing it on ESPN where everyone can watch it.

Also, Brinkley, unlike Miranda, Joppy, Zuniga and basically everyone Bute has fought, actually truly earned this title shot.

Boxing fans should be 100% supportive of Brinkley getting this chance because he is a tough sonofabitch who loves to fight and always brings it to his opponent.

Bute may be the much better fighter, but Brinkley is as good an ESPN fighter as we have had in years.

i like the heart and determination of brinkley but in all fairness, he's out matched, and although he has a punchers chance in this wild game of boxing, he really doesn't fair a winning chance.............

We'll never get the chance to prove you idiocy sadly, Hopkins won't fight anyone who can beat him now and Martinez isn't about to move up to 168 with Cotto and Marg coming up to 154, or passing up on a Williams rematch.

I never thought much of Brinkley. I still remember him best for some ripoff decision he got in a 5 round fight on ESPN years ago, I think in a Contender fight. Bute should give him a boxing lesson and KO him within 7 rounds.

If this is on FNF I don't see how anyone can complain. It's going to be an awesome knockout, hopefully if we're lucky knockout of the year.

Bute is doing exactly what I would be doing - waiting, but still fighting relatively soft opponents - until the supersix fighters and/or kelly pavlik become available.
