Man, he had so much promise, I was sure he was going somewhere after he beat JT twice. I am off the Ghost bandwagon for now. Loosing to Hopkins and Martinez is not shameful initself but his inactivity is what's soured it for me.

Pavlik didn't look too bad slightly weight drained at 160. He wasn't all the way weight drained or Martinez' punches would have pushed him back.

I would still pick him over Sturm and especially Sylvester. He won't be able to make weight too much longer though, Hopkins had to lead a no alcohol, sweets, pork, drugs, obsessive training lifestyle to be able to stay at 160.

Pavlik wouldn't do that. He's probably at 190-200 pounds without too much fat on him right now.

At this point in Kelly's career he needs a BIG WIN against someone, in fact anyone in any weight class.

How can he stay at 160 when he walked away from a rematch with Martinez? That's almost like admitting you're not good enough.

I think he needs to take a risk, to gain back some credibility. Hit 168 and fight Bute or head up to 175 and take on Dawson or Cloud or Pascal.

Jermain Taylor remains Pavlik's biggest wins however both Froch and AA KO'd him brutally, much more brutally than Pavlik. I like Pavlik, he seems like a nice guy but I believe his time near the top of 160 lbers (or 168) is not going to last much longer...
Actually,Taylor went out on his feet against Froch...with Kelly, he was out on his butt! By the time he fought Abraham,he was tentative and never even threw a right hand....I would like to see Kelly against Abraham still.

I think this is a bad idea. He should move up. If he is going to struggle to make weight, he is just putting himself in a bad situation.

Plus, there are no fights to be made at 160.

Well of course he would stay at 160 if that was possible because he isn't good enough to beat big LHWs his own size.

Pavlik needs a nutritionist and a better trainer? Sounds like Alex Ariza and Freddie Roach would be perfect fit for him.

I'd seriously consider heading over to the Wild Card if I was Kelly.

Dude is a fuckin fraud. His trainer told him in the Hopkins fight, don't worry. It's not a title fight. And then he tells Jack Loew in the Martinez fight, I can't see!!!!

He is ok, but was never really world class, the Taylor win just created this illusion because ppl were under the illusion that Taylor was elite but really never was and was only able to sc**** by Hopkins twice because he got old.

That is my take on him and really the whole notion of elite MWs for the past several year, case in point a very good SWW is the best MW in the world today.
