    "Boxing is dead"

When is the saying going to stop being tossed around, do you think possibly after Mayweather vs. Pacquiao break every record set for a fight?

why would they stop? boxing is dead! besides floyd and manny who doe casuals really know or want to see fight? Just because you're into boxing doesn't mean the general public is. I think about potential fights besides pac and may that could grab the attention of the world and there isnt any fights out there. The biggest fight that can be made besides pac vs may is klit vs haye and that **** would do horrible ppv numbers here in the states as no one knows them or cares to know them. Reality is boxing is dying and there is no superstars in the making to bring the casuals to follow boxing again like they did in the 90's or early 2000's. I know it's sad. Just think about the last two summers. Summer time is when boxing has it's biggest fights and this is now the 2nd summer in a row with nada! Last good summer for boxing was cotto vs margarito.

And I'm sick of people saying boxing is dead, especially people who don't even watch boxing or even MMA. They parrot **** they hear from goombas on ESPN, even though a big fight will consistently outsell/outdraw a UFC card. I don't know the numbers for Lesnar-Carwin, but Dana White seemed really hopeful that they would crack a million. In the biggest fight in UFC history. Usually, I'm not one for PPV buys - when it comes to fighters. But for the sport overall, I think it's clear where the American public's loyalties still lie. Sure, we'll lose the bros with their lifted trucks and tribal tattoos, but whatever. Boxing's far from dead.

bro you need to wake up. MMA is having big ppv fights every month and they are all doing well in regards to ppv buys. **** boxing doesn't even have much ppv fights anymore and when they do they're piece of **** ones like hopkins vs jones and diaz vs marquez II. Boxing is dying bro and there's no one in the ranks that's capable of bringing it back.
