Rojas isn't this killer that these dominicanos make him out to be. I think Gamboa will spark him eventually. Rojas is a lot better than Concepcion and Luevano though. He'll give Gamboa some trouble in the early rounds, but his lack of power will cause Gamboa to get to him I believe. Elite fighters shouldn't have any trouble with Gamiel Diaz or whatever his name is. Guerrero and Linares KOd him. Even if Rojas got robbed, it goes to show that he doesn't really have any power to speak of. Cab would've been the tougher challenge.

After watching most of his fights I've come to the same conclusion.

Honestly, while everyone is caught up in the JuanMa/Gamboa hype or hanging on legends like Rafa Marquez, or focusing on Caballero trying to land a big fight, or John being number 1. I really think Rojas is the dark horse of 126. Real talk.

Unless Rojas' chin and stamina don't stand, he'll be a huge problem at 126.

Gamboa lacks a transition from defense to offense, he can only play 1 or the other. Yuriorkis will need a good jab to set up his offense against Rojas, but he doesn't have 1. I don't know if he didn't train as good or what, but he gassed, wasn't as strong as I thought, and couldn't land on his last opponent cleanly.

Rojas won't get it easy though, Gamboa has the type of natural talent that can catch opponents off guard. And his defense is coming along lovely.

I'm not even a fan of Elio Rojas, although I'll be rooting for him. His heart has to be tested before I consider myself a fan, and I do believe Gamboa will test him in that department.
