No way, Cotto will land slightly more than Gatti landed on Floyd per round. I do think that at this stage and especially at 154lb, Cotto's hand speed will be equally comparable to how Gatti's hand speed was at 140lb.

Cotto has pretty good timing and accuracy. I actually see him tagging floyd more than anybody has ever done. That said I see floyd hitting more and cleaner.

Average less than 10. Have one or two good rounds in there with he lands in double digits.

        Hopefully his connects are solid.

I can definitely see Cotto throwing 600+ punches in that fight, and that's going to force Floyd to pick up the pace and perform at a high level.

yeah gatti landed like 0 punches per round so I was stretching with that remark, but I still don't think he'll land in the double digits, other than maybe a round or two at best.

That's for sure. Floyd hasn't had any opponents landing 100+ total punches on him since he last fought Oscar. I think Cotto is a more accurate puncher than Oscar was, and I definitely do think he can land as many of punches as Oscar landed on Floyd. It's not out of the question to say Cotto isn't capable of averaging 10 punches landing per round[120 total] when it all said and done.

well I hope cotto proves me wrong, I just don't see it. I think floyd is very good at keeping the right distance between him and his opponent and since floyd has a significant reach advantage and cotto has a lot shorter arms it's going to be very difficult for cotto to be effective. Is he going to try to fight inside the entire fight? I don't really think that's his style anymore, Cotto likes to box, but if he does he's going to be walking into traps & counters all night. If he stays at mid range floyd will pick him apart. I just can't envision any scenario where cotto is effective against Floyd.

I'd love to see it though, I'd love to see a competitive fight but my logical thinking makes me think this will be pretty one sided.

The only way Cotto wins, is Floyd turns 35 the same way Roy turned 35.
