Doug Fischer:"Cotto fans should blame Miguel himself for the catchweight stipulation"

"Cotto fans should not be mad at Pacquiao or Freddie Roach for insisting on catchweight bouts vs. the Puerto Rican star, they should be mad at Cotto for agreeing to the catchweight stipulations."

It's a two way street. ***** move to ask for it (especially now after he already whooped Cotto's ass) and ****** on Cotto's part for accepting. When did Doug become such a *******?

Anyways, Pac doesn't need a catchweight to beat Cotto, so in the end it makes him look bad for asking for it a second time around. Especially because he's making history winning titles in different divisions.

I blame Arum for not looking out for Cotto. As the promoter for both fighters he should have made sure everything was on the up and up. But I guess he didn't care as long as he has his cash cow.

Why does this clown Doug Fischer still have a job anyway?

Miguel couldn't make that kind of money anywhere else so Bob only gave it to him if he went to 145. manny wanted 143 Cotto wnated 147. Doug Fischer is a knowledgable guy but he is wrong here.

There are not many $8 mil fights out there. Bob gives him his highest payday only if he fights at 145 so he can protect Manny who makes him more money. Fvcj Bob and Doug!

Doesn't make a difference. The catchweight didn't beat Cotto. He was beaten by a better fighter with a better game plan set than what Cotto came in to the ring with that night.

C'mon, Cotto weighed 1lb less than he had in his fights with Mosley, Clottey, and Margarito and didn't looked drained at all.

If the Pacman-Floyd fight falls through, then if Cotto's name is brought up for the title at 154,that's where the fight should be at!!If Cotto alows himself to be talked into another catchweight fight, then he is an idiot!!But at the same time Arum should be looking out for both men,not just Pacman!!On a final note, would be interesting to see a Stewart trained Cotto,up against Manny & Freddy too!!

the only reason people are still whining about the pac-cotto fight is because of pac's performance. it appeared he didn't need the catchweight to beat cotto. when jcc sr fought whitaker it was done at 145 also but not a lot of people whined about the catchweight because the fight was very competetive and it even ended up a draw although some people are saying whitaker got robbed.

If you're the Cash Cow like JCC Jr., Floyd, or Pacquiao-- you can ask for whatever the **** you want. If the other guy needs the fight more than you, he has to agree to it. Tough ****.

If Miguel Cotto didn't want to be in a position to accept a higher earner's demands, maybe he shouldn't have gotten his ass kicked by Margarito? Thus diminishing his career and earning power.

                    Duh.
