What HOF Fighter Had The Easiest Career

Not necessarily the easiest opponents, just who had the easiest time dealing with the opponents placed in front of them. Right now, and I know this is a bit modernist, but I got Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather. Zags 2 closest fights werent really that close. Reid...most people had Calzaghe winning by 4 or 5 rounds, 2 judges saw it that way. I challenge anyone to tell me more than 5 rounds you could argue Reid won. As for the Hopkins fight...being hugged and rabbit punched and head butted sucks but Joe didnt look tired at all and had the ref been better there would have been no close decision. Dude was barely hurt ever in his career. Kessler probably hit him with the hardest punches, but JOe didnt look marked or anything.

Floyd is Floyd, rarely touched, never really injured. He's had some tough fights, but never really took any kind of a beating. He doesnt go down, doesnt take many shots, and tends to win wide decisions or stoppages. They dont call him "pretty" because he likes to get hit.

I cant think of two fighters who have had easier careers. which to me is a compliment. They dominate the people they go up against.

      I agree.

Also "modernist", I think Ali and Leonard had difficult HOF careers.

Why Leonard ?, just wondering, he fought the best opponents of his era but he's also a gold medalists and always played things his way, he'd be one of the last people I'd choose to had a difficult HOF career.

HOF'ers had blood, sweat and tears as investment for them to get there.

Not sure if any HOF'er cruised along without any hardships.

            Duran (twice), Hearns, Benítez

            Detached Retina.

            Hearns, Hagler, Duran (again)

Tough act to follow. Haters can only accuse him of not fighting Pryor.

I find it difficult for anyone to hate on Leonard or Ali. Both avenged their "in their prime" losses.

Not saying that they cruised along by any stretch, but I mean who do you think 1. took the least amount of punishment and 2. Had the least amount of trouble in their fights. For example someone like Marciano, although undefeated would not be someone I would choose because he was in quite a few wars, got busted up quite a bit etc...Or for 2 guys who took a lot of punishment (not sure if either are HOFers) but like Gatti and Ward would be definite examples of guys who did not have it easy.

Again im not saying easy as a negative, not saying Floyd or Joe ducked anyone etc (thats an argument for about a billion other threads out there), im more saying easy as a compliment, kinda like what British fans would chant at the end of Calzaghe matches. Or how many guys would be in the Mason "The Line" Dixon category from Rocky, guys who were never really pushed to their limit so are quite frequently either under or overrated because we dont REALLY know what they could have done.

I'm not hating on him at all, I just don't think his career was difficult even if you compared it to Haglers or anyone else who didn't have an Olympic gold medal to kick off their career and also someone who played everything by there own book in deals and such.

Not implying in any way you are hating.

And I am not judging it by how much they made, or how difficult it was for them to get the title fights. I am grading it on quality of opposition.

Of course Hagler had it very difficult in other ways. He even had to legally change his name to be called Marvelous by some.
