    Im sick of hearing excuses like this from IDIOTS. You don't get to 41-0 having been a Six time world champion in 5 different weight classes without fighting any top fighters in their prime.

    When he beats Pacquiao you will hear the same usual crap. "He was the bigger man", "Floyd was supposed to beat him, He's been beat before" etc etc. When Floyd beats him Pacquiao will go from a "Top 3 ATG" to an average, overhyped, smaller man who has already been beaten 3 times.

      The people who never give Floyd credit for anything will come out in full force at first, but as far as the people who matter, in the eyes of legit boxing fans, boxing historians, the real sports media, beating Pacquiao is what caps Floyd's career, proves indisputably how great he is, and finally gets him the respect he feels he deserves.

      The boost to his legacy and the fan appreciation that comes with it will be tremendous.

Right now Mayweather is at the height of popularity and has outsold the "hero of asia" and "FOTD" at every turn, even with Marquez and Mosley who have never been draws. He will never have the haters respect, legacy minimal, and can make good money on his own. So what does Floyd gain by beating Pacman? Is it really going to do anything for his legacy?

        the only thing he gains is the money.

          I agree with check hook and others . After the money he will gain nothing else. The SSM fight was the same thing. After the domination those who won't give floyd credit because they hate him still didn't give him any. It was ok now beat manny.

          Besides, it doesn't really matter if haters respect him or not. to quote Jay-Z;
          "**** ni99as, b!tches too, all I got is this money, this will do!"

                They'll have to no choice but to give him props, otherwise they will look like clowns. But i do have a feeling that most of them will discredit the win as if Manny Pacquiao was never great in the first place.

                  The media have enough power to make a Floyd win over Manny Pacquiao to look like any ordinary wins on his resume.

                    i think most people would give Floyd jr. his credit due. I know i would.

                    Look at Ali. Lots of people hated him during his time, but now he gets the respect due him.

                      Actually, i think the media was pretty fair with his win against mosley. They gave him props for beating Mosley, albeit with the sometimes side comment that the fight should have been made ten years ago.
