The respect will come if the fight is exciting to watch. If mayweather goes back to punching then clinching all 12 rounds, then he will be booed on the streets once again assuming he wins it.

Beating Pac would be a legit win against an ATG

People have been asking Floyd to fight Pac for like 2 years now. When people say he ''dodged'' (Tszyu, Cotto, Margarito) its because he went out and fought lesser opposition (or retired lol).

In this case, Pac is the n.1 guy

              EVERYONE knows that
              1 year.

The whole May vs Pac thing started after DLH vs Pac in December, then it got stronger after Pac's win over Ricky Hatton on May 2. From December 2008 till now is still not two years. In December it will be 2 years.

With that said, let's not ignore Brian Kenny and boxing fans egging Floyd to fight Mosley after his September win over Marquez and next step Floyd did was sign to fight Mosley. Who was supposedly the 'best fighter' Floyd has fought to date and an actual 'challenge' going in to the fight.

Seeing you are a 2010 poster, you haven't been here to witness the dumbasses I have witnessed. Here's a little flashback on all the haters talking about how this is the fight and that is the fight for Floyd, blah, blah, blah. Same old ****, different posters.

He would be back after beating Pacquiao. This fight has nothing to do with legacy for Floyd, it's all about Money.

I think Floyd would even invest in a guy like Andre Berto just to make money off him in a future fight.

It's ALL about $$$, and if you don't believe that, you don't know **** about boxing.

All fighters will always have haters who will try and discredit every win. But that shouldn't stop their fans from wanting to see their favorite fighters take on worthy challenges.

The problem right now with Floyd is that it's not only his haters who are questioning whether he has lived up to his true potential, but even boxing writers, experts, historians, neutral boxing fans, and, deep in their hearts, his own fans.

You can bet the farm that beating Pacquiao would be acknowledged as a legacy-defining victory for Floyd by the vast majority those who are not yet his fans. Only then can succeeding criticisms against Floyd be rightly called as hating.
