    Does Cotto/Margarito avenge Tito/Vargas (cheat-wise)?

Vargas was an up and coming champion who was destroyed by Trinidad. Later in his career, Trinidad was discovered using a tricked out wrapping technique by Richardson. Cotto was mauled by Margarito. Later in his career, Margarito was discovered using a plaster-like substance in his wraps (again, by Nazeem Richardson).

Does the Cotto mauling even out the Vargas destruction?

      1. unrelated - You are right.
      2. no cheating anyway - I suppose that because it wasn't proven beyond reasonable doubt, right?
      3. Tito killed Vargas - Yes.
      4. Tony killed Cotto - Yes.
      5. Different fights - Yes.

Vargas said he had spared with much bigger fighters and that he had never experienced that kind of punching power. Cotto was being bloodied to a pulp by pitty pat punches.

Trinidad power-wise was never the same after the hand wrap controversy. Only knocked out Cherifi (journeyman) and Mayorga (human punching bag). Got exposed by Jones and Wright.

Margarito power-wise (until now) has not been the same after the plaster controversy. Lost to Mosley and couldn't KO journeyman Garcia.

Before the incidents, both of them were killing great fighters, ending undefeated runs, shotting warriors to death.

This is a ridiculous post. You can't accuse either Trinidad or Margarito of cheating in these respective matches. Vargas' people watched Trinidad get his hands wrapped just like Hopkin's people did. They had no problem with the hand wraps, which tells me that there was nothing wrong with the hand wraps. Cotto's handlers were able to watch Margarito get his hands wrapped also. They said nothing, which tells me that they didn't notice anything illegal. Naseem Richardson did not watch Margarito's hands get wrapped initially. They were already wrapped when he arrived in the dressing room. That is how he almost got away with the cheating. There was no cheating in the Trinidad/Vargas or Margarito/Cotto figth unless there were illegal drugs used that were not detected because there was not adequate testing for it.

Right under the nose of the Nevada Athletic Commission inspector. Forgot that?

All the fighters that Trinidad fought after Vargas were A-class fighters in their primes who had the skills to beat Trinidad (with the exception of Jones and Jones still had the skills to beat Trinidad). Unlike most fighters today, he didn't fight one tough fight and then fight a tomato can to pad his record. That is why he was not able to knock them out. It had nothing to do with the hand wraps. Margarito has only had one fight, post Mosley, so you can't use that as a comparison.. And, again, I say the same thing I said in another post. All of his opponent's handlers had the opportunity to watch him get his hands wrapped. If his trainer had been using something illegal in the hand wraps, they would/should have seen it. Since no one voiced a concern prior to the Mosley bout, neither you nor anyone else has the right to accuse him of cheating.

I don't think there was proof the earth was round before Magellan. Guess what? It still was round.
