Comments Thread For: Povetkin Update: Training For Klitschko, Drug Tests, More

Several days after K2 has won a purse bid to promote an IBF mandatory between unified WBO/IBF/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KOs) and his long-time IBF/WBO #1 and WBC #3 persecutor Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) this reporter contacted Alexander’s manager Vladimir Hryunov to know more about his protégé’s immediate plans. What are the chances Povetkin and Co. weasel their way out of this fight.

Too late, Wlad agreed to WADA, but only if Povetkin pays for it. Since it ain't easy or cheap, Povetkin's team been really quiet about it. Up until now, apparently.

I love it! The "masterful coach" Teddy Atlas is already lining up some good sparring by the sound of it. He'll have Povetkin as ready as he possibly can although I'm sure he would have wanted to have a few more fights before going after the belt.

Win or lose this will be Wlad's toughest fight in years, count on it.

Persecutor ??? I'd rather say avoider . How long has he been mandatory , three years already ? I'm afraid he'll retire mandatory challenger .

                sasha will lose

Teddy Atlas retires from traning again after the Russian gets knocked out in about the 9th or 10th round.

Teddy Atlas will masterfully create some excuses about Povetkin being a heartless Russian who didn't listen to him and slept in silk pajamas after Wlad administers a merciless beating to poor old Sascha.

I don't think so. Povetkin can't get out of the way of that jab. Wlad is going to destroy him.
