I dont see how Judah losing those fights mean Pac is more "skilled" than him.
Certainly nothing shows skill like pulling back with your hands down.

Lol, it hasn't worked on me.

Even with how nebulous the word "skill" can be... in boxing terms, I can't think of a single interpretation of that word where I could pull the trigger for Judah over Pacquiao and feel comfortable with my decision.

        that was funny.

I was just checking out some old Zab Judah stuff online this morning and I said to myself "damn this ****er was really good". I got so used to him sucking like he currently does that i forgot how good dude was. I always thought if he had a head on his shoulders he'd be a force to be reckoned with. I think what did him in is his lack of maturity, focus and a good trainer. But he had it all.

It's how debate people talk... Seriously... if you ever meet anyone who did college debate, I guarantee you they will say a bunch of **** the exact same way I do.

Onto the discussion... Zab Judah was like Junior Jones... someone who appeared to be really, really good, because he shot 12 rounds of energy in 4 rounds. If you used a 12 round gas tank to fight the first four rounds, you better look like Christ reincarnated... Just saying...

              Thats the thing..lol.

He was like a Sprinter he could only hold his top speed for so long before gassing out mentally.

Im telling you man if he had some focus and a good trainer he would still be a P4P fighter today. ****** watching him piss it all away. punching shower doors, shooting dice in the street, low blowing Floyd and trying to lowblow Baldi when they touched gloves.

But, even so... it's an illusion.

Do you remember when Tyson had to win fights by going to the distance (before the Douglas fight), and you were just like... hmmm... that was odd, it wasn't the usual Tyson. It's because he ****ed off all his energy early trying for the knockout, and just looked ordinary in the later rounds. Look no further than the Quick Tillis fight.

Same thing with Judah... honestly, can you imagine if anyone spent all their energy throwing everything into their punches in the first couple of rounds? They would all look unbeatable... until the bell rang for the 5th round, and then they were a sitting duck waiting to be beaten.

I look at it this way.

Skills can be athlethic talent or techinical skills.

Athlethicly Judah is clearly more talented than Manny. Faster,Stronger,Quicker,Taller, Longer arms, Bigger hands/feet.

Judah has been very formidable and extremely potent without ever working with a half decent trainner.

Judah didnt use of the potential he had or has. His work ethic, heart and discipline doomed him.

Manny clearly(not even a question) is the better fighter and more sucessful of the two.

Think about what Judah couldve been with someone who could have disciplined him like a Roach or Roger?

I feel like skill is something that must be something to be acquired (hence why there is skilled and unskilled labor... no one is born with the ability to do skilled labor, it must be learned), so things such as large hands and feet cannot be accurately described as skill. The same is true with height and reach. Speed is something that can be refined though, so that can be a skill.

Judah certainly has speed. I've already said in this thread that I feel like his power is quite overrated. He was able to hurt people, but not get them out of there, and his finishing technique is... far from skillful. His footwork is atrocious beyond belief. Really... all he has that is world class is speed. However, he is also predictable as hell, because a skill he never learned is punch variety to keep the opponent guessing.

Pacquiao has learned excellent footwork, and his biggest gift is punching variety, with the exclamation point of ridiculous angles intensifying it.

I honest to god think this is one of the more absurd questions I've heard asked on here (that was meant to be a serious discussion), and I'm a bit sick to my stomach that so many people have answered in Judah's favor. It just makes less than no sense to me.

a lot of people dont get this right.. just because Judah throws a jab with a lot of poise and grace compared to manny does'nt mean he is more skilled. Its a good thing a lot more poster knows what is "skills".. Its not about putting on a poster like combinations like Judah likes doing.

Manny throws wild, awkward and off-balanced punches, but the thing is, that's skill in rough perspective.

yes Manny is just a little above average skilled fighter, but Judah for me is average. Thus vote should go to Manny.
