Until i see Vitali himself saying hes willing to be stripped from the belt then ill say hes ducking Rahman. But until then its only bull****.
Vitali willing to give up belt to fight prospect?

If he fights Rahman as the interim champ he gets a 45/55 split instead of the 70/30 he wants as the champ. Also if he fights the interim champ there will be no rematch clause, he is being very smart here.
dont you mean 55/45 split if he fights rahman? or would rock actually get more?
i dont really buy any of this, im waiting for the definate word because at this point this is a whole lot of speculation.Comment

Yeap, we've got to kick that dead horse again and again and again.
Vitali has said repeatedly that he and his brother have a dream of holding world championship titles at the same time. He's also said "There’s no way I’m going to give up the WBC championship belt" and "I am confident, that in the future fights I will not only justify the trust that has been given to me, but also prove that I own this championship title rightfully."
How can they achieve their shared dream if Vitali gives up the title? Why would he say he will not give up the title and then give it up?
For him to give up the title would be completely out of character. If he walks away from the WBC he would lose his title, his dream, his fan base and weaken his purse in future fights. It doesn't make sense. He is a doctor after all and is smart enough to know the consequences of giving up the title. Therefore, I would be shocked if he did it.
IMO - It's more likely this is just another reporters misinterpretation or falsification of the truth. We've seen a dozen of these things and thus far, none have turned out to be true .Last edited by Torino; 07-08-2005, 02:10 PM.Comment

Vitali falls a little farther each day. I'm enjoying seeing the excuses these Klitschko fanatics come up with as they lose more and more respect with each passing day.
One's in court because he refuses to rematch a guy that knocked him on his ass.
The other refuses to face decent opposition.
And now for the rebuttal? I can't waitComment

it makes no sense why he cant take a fight in sept, when the rahman/barrett winner probably wont be ready and then fight the winner after.... its just asking VK to stay out til dec. or longer...
i hear people whining about his inactivity and now they're crying about him wanting to take a fight sept... makes no sense...Comment

Rahman has said he'll be ready in September. Now, maybe you don't believe him, and that's fine. But, I'd like Vitali to come out and say, "Fine, Rahman. If you are available, we'll fight on September 24. If you're not available, then I'm going to fight [TBA] in October."Comment
