    Letterlough Killed, Aponte Dead

    Letterlough Murdered, Aponte Dead
    By Andre Courtemanche
According to trainer Marshall Kauffman, light heavyweight contender Julian Letterlough was shot last night and was pronounced dead at the scene. Letterlough was well known for his great punching power and the exciting fights he had on ESPN. He is survived by a son named Julian who is 15 and started boxing himself 6 months ago. Also according to Kauffman, Jose "Cheto" Aponte was found dead three days ago from unknown causes. Aponte fought some of the toughest fighters in the world at 130 to 135lbs including Mohamed Abdulaev, Michael Stewart, Yusef Mack, Teddy Reid, Paul Spadafora, John Brown, Tracy Harris Patterson, and Leonard Dorin just to name a few. More information to come.

    This is horrible news...

Julian was a warrior in the ring, I met him in Reno at a workout right before he was to face Vassily Jirov. He was overmatched and undersized in the fight but he actually had Jiorv in trouble in the six round.

His war with Julio Gonzalez was amazing as good of a fight as you will ever see and his fight with Sam Ahmed was unreal as well.

I will miss Julian, anytime he ws slated for an ESPN card it was must see tv for any boxing fan!

    RIP Julian RIP...

This is very sad news.I was a big fan of Julian "Mr KO" Letterlough.Even though he never became World Champion,he was one of the most exciting power punchers around. This is a big lost for the boxing world.

How shocking! Terribly sad to know his family is hurting, and that we'll never hear that oh so familiar name being announced again...cant remember all the times I've watched that man fight. Very sad news
