This topic sucks! Lewis is the most overrated bum I ever seen, next to Oscar. Why he doesn't get much respect?? He's considered by many critics & media to be one of top 5 heavyweight of all time & he doesn't get much respect. What's up??

I am not a Lennox nuthugger, but a fan. Just want to know your opinions on his legacy.
I agree completely...I adore the man and he is severly missed by some! Alot of CLASS left the heavy wt. division when he retired, along with great talent.

...One thing kind of damning to come out about Lewis on these boards is that JUYJUY is from England, he was a boxer himself and he met a ton of champs and he says Lennox is a major *******. I think that confirms what most people think of him by the attitude he portrays and the way he talks. If a fellow boxer/brit that met the man says he was an ******* then that's good enough for me. I still rank him top ten all time even if he is a jackass.

I don't know what he had against me, I was very polite and etc. But he acted like an arrogant, pompous, ignorant prick. But I don't let that get in the way of how I look at his ability, he was very good obviously but abit over-rated, he really wasn't 'that' good.

He was pretty sharp but what does that say about LL that his biggest victory was against a guy like Rahman, a decent to good fighter but so far away from great that it is not funny.

Rahman is a guy that was beaten by Maskeav, Tua, Ruiz, ancient Holyfield...and he is LL's best victory...hmmmm

Say what you want about Bowe ducking Lewis but the fact remains that the fight never happened and it hurts LL's legacy that the fight never took place...he has never faced a top notch guy in his prime and it is most likely not his fault but the fact remains that he never faced a top notch guy in their prime...he needed that Bowe fight!

I honestly hate to hear that..I have an enormous amount of respect for LL. Hopefully you caught him on a bad day (which is NO exucse, but we all have them) I hate that he retired, but hope he's happy with his new baby and his woman. Really wish him nothing but the best, cause love him or hate him, he did provide some very good fights over the yr's.

In my opinion, LL was a damn good fighter. What talent he had and size to boot. I think his wins against Holy are impressive.(don't tell me about a scorecard,Lewis won both) His impressive victories over Ruddock,Golata,Rahman and Klits were good for him as well. He fought many great fights and thrilled me for years. His fights weren't always the most exciting, but all of his fights were events. I really enjoyed his career and I will miss him for sure.

I wouldn't put him too high on my alltime list, becuase he kind of was an underachiever with his lack of motivation and training...ie-a little lazy. I would definitely put him #10-15 somewhere and he would pose a stylistic problem for any heavyweight in History.

maybe Klits can get him back in there for one more
