Comments Thread For: Cotto's Next Move Hangs on Mayweather-Pacquiao Talks

WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is going to sit back and enjoy a summer vacation until the negotiations are finished between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Cotto's legal counsel Gaby Peñagarícano told reporter Reymund Colon that Top Rank [who also promote Pacquiao] have yet to make a decision on Miguel's next opponent and probably won't until the Mayweather-Pacquiao talks are done.

I'm a HUGE Cotto fan but i'd rather see Cotto fight Berto, Margarito or even JCCJ rather then seeing him face Pacman for now!!!!

If Stewart is going to brings changes in Cotto it wont be overnight therefore several fights should be made for Cotto before even considering Pacman again.

That's the right move, wait to see what happens with Floyd-Pac first. It would be awesome to get Floyd-Pac and Cotto-Marg to end 2010.

        ....or Pac-Marg and Cotto-Floyd.

I agree, I would also like to see Cotto fight Angulo. But I think the rematch against Margacheato should be # 1 on his list!!!

I would love a fight against Floyd, that would be the best fight out there for Cotto. If that cannot be done Cotto should take on Berto and leave Margacheato to fight bums in Tijuana, Mexico. Don't give that piece of **** any money or recognition whatsoever.

Cotto-Pac II should not even be an option, even at 154.
A Cotto-Floyd match-up at 154 would be #2 on my wish list of fights for FMJ. A Margarito rematch, I would be nervous for Cotto but would root for him 100% no doubt.

kind of figured cotto would be waiting for these talks to finish, cuz cotto is used to fight 3 or 4 times a year

panda sure hopes money and pac can get this done so cotto-margarito II happens
