I believe you are right. Pacman's team does not want to fight under 145 no more and I think it was Roach who said it. Not sure though.

Well if this is the case, I don't really want to see it. Although I would have rather seen it than the Clottey fight even if i was at 145 or EVEN 147. The Cottey fight was pointless IMO. I knew what was going to happen there.

Anyway I guess we will have to wait and see....

In the meantime I have UFC 116 on the mind. Its only a quickfix for boxing.

The hopeful promoter told BoxingScene.com, Yahoo! Sports and SI.com this week that Pacquiao accepted all the proposed terms to meet Mayweather in what would be the biggest fight of the 21st century. According to Arum, Mayweather is in the process of deciding if he’ll oppose Pacquiao for pound-for-pound supremacy or take the rest of the year off.

If fight fans get what they deserve, the top two pound-for-pound boxers in the world will square off in a welterweight title fight that’ll transcend boxing and possibly break pay-per-view and gate-receipt records. But negotiations for a showdown that could earn each boxer at least $30 million inexplicably imploded once, thus there’s no reason to think that these more respectful, quiet talks couldn’t collapse before an agreement is reached.

Regardless, Pacquiao, a newly elected Congressman in his native Philippines, still plans to fight Nov. 13. The prospect of Pacquiao opposing someone other than Mayweather in his next fight is discouraging, but it’s a possibility Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) might not be able to avoid. This is a good analysis of Pac's options. However, anyone with any sense knows that there are only two options for Pac if the Mayweather fight falls through. Those are Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto. Arum won't consider putting him in the ring with any of those other three fighters because they are not in his stable and there is a chance they could beat Pac.

floyd running away from threatening opposition. as usual.
Yes. Just like Floyd ran away from the first round of negotiations when he offered Pac the same deal that Pac is trying to take now (which is no longer available). I find it amazing that Pac could turn down a deal that was already offered, change his mind when the deal is no longer on the table, but Floyd is the one running away. Only on this message board can this twisted logic apply.

Dude, you should know by now that neither logic nor common sense apply to this message board. This is the place where anything that Bob Arum says about Pacquaio or against Mayweather is accepted as gospel, even though Arum has a long history of lying. This is the place where it makes perfect sense to put Pacquaio in the ring with a foreign opponent with no following who brings nothing to the table (Joshua Clottey) but its a horrible idea to put him in the ring with the 140-pound champion (Bradley) who does have a fan base in the U.S. This is the place where a 145-pound catchweight fight for the 147-pound title makes sense because Cotto fought his last fight at 146.

This is the place where Pac was right for turning down a 14-day cutoff for drug testing six months ago, but he is right for accepting it now even though it is no longer an option.

If you want to engage in a logical, common sense debate, you have to find another message board because logic and common sense don't apply here.

I still haven't read ONE piece that says that Manny has signed his contract to fight Fraud Jr. But it is very obvious that Arum's tactic worked.

if floyd fought pac under the same rules, regulations, & circumstances he fought his other 40 victories, pac vs floyd would have happened a long time ago.

instead floyd asked for a extra test never been done before in the history of prize fighting against a man who has no evidence of steroid use & who he claimed is too small, overrated, & easy work.

YOU TELL ME WHO IS SCARED & DIDNT WANT TO FIGHT A FORMER PROFESSIONAL 106 pounder when he is a former 154 pounder.

                    I dont understand it.

There's a reason why floyd has a international, universal reputation of being a scared cherry picking ducker afraid to fight threatening opposition & lose his undefeated record.

Why are you talking like a child? It's the truth. Arum chooses who fights Pacquiao. Arum is waiting to see what Floyd decides. Floyd is his own boss. If Floyd says he wants the fight, Arum will have Manny sign the contract.
