Pascal doesn't have a chance, if you can't beat Carl Froch at 168 you don't even belong in a ring with Chad Dawson.

I booked a trip to Vegas for the weekend of this fight for no other reason than to put a huge bet on Chad.

Diaconu/Dawson was a fight I woudlve liked to have seen, but we know Dawson doesn't fight anyone under 40.

By the same token Pascal lost 2 or 3 more rounds against the 5'9 Diaconu than Dawson did in either fight with Tarver.

It's gonna be an asswhooping to remember. Finally Chad gets an opponent he can knock out.

I don't think Pascal is as good as a lot of people say he is either, and I think Tavoris Cloud would've been the tougher challenge. But I still don't think Dawson is a lock to beat Pascal because he doesn't have the power to hurt him even if Pascal's chin might not be as tested as Johnson's and Tarver's were. If Dawson takes rounds off like he does a lot of times, I could see Pascal winning a close decision since this fight is in Canada.

When it comes to Johnson and Tarver, not only are their chins amongst the best in boxing, but their defense and ability to avoid taking big shots is also amongst the best. Johnson especially hardly ever takes a really clean shot because he keeps the tightest guard this side of Arthur Abraham.

Pascal on the other hand has a leaky defense and he tends to focus on offense much more often than the other way around. Dawson will let his hands go in combination like he always does only this time instead of hitting gloves and arms like he did against Johnson he will be tattooing Pascal's face with consecutive punches for as long as Jean can take it.

Pascal is a fairly tough guy and has some heart that will keep him on his feet but I don't think he is gonna be able to take the pounding all night long. He will be worn down and taken out.

Dawson might need to be more aggressive in this fight is all I'm saying. It may be true that Dawson has the ability to hurt him. But he just hasn't shown that he is a puncher and by his own admission he tries to play it safe and fight intelligently.
