Not from where I'm sitting bro.

I understand the instincts that fighters develop over time, and I try to look a little deeper into why certain things occur.

I mean you could be right, you can read too much into things, and it is sometimes easy to over-analyse certain situations..... but it was truly bizarre to watch Clottey ignoring his two most basic instincts in that fight..... when all evidence indicated that he was having success with both.

I don’t recall anyone saying that in this thread either. I’m simply sharing my thoughts. As soon as the fight was signed I declared that Clottey was going to lose in one-sided fashion.

    Most said that.....
but I did not hear anybody say that Clottey would easily be able to hit Manny, and that he would back him up everytime when he did connect.

Clottey was well aware of the situation inside that ring bro, he knew what was working for him..... and I do not believe that you are unaware of that fact

No, my friend. You totally misread what I said. When I say 1-4, I don’t mean his record against Manny in five fights, I’m talking about the reasons you listed (#s 1-4) in your previous post . I think this totally changes your argument, eh?

Aaaah ok, yes I did mis-read your comment..... let me go back and look at those points again.

OK, your point was that Clottey had similar success against other fighters that he LOST to, so we should not be too surprised with what happened when he fought Manny?

I think that is the angle that you were coming from? Correct me if I'm wrong there, but if not, then you have a valid point. And also, I will add that Clottey has never had a high workrate anyways.

But that is kinda like triangle-theories bro. You cannot compare the way that Josh matched up physically against Margo, etc. Come on Manny is a little guy, I mean Clottey had weight rehydration restrictions in his contract ffs..... you have to look at each fight individually to be fair. Each opponent is totally different.

CLOTTEY KNOWS THIS..... and he knew what was working for him in that fight. One of the first problems facing any boxer/puncher is to work out if your opponent can hurt you..... listen to Frankie Gomez comments about his latest fight..... CLottey knew bro, plain as day.

Well, my friend, I think you’re wrong. Period. Oh and BTW, Clottey dropped his trainer well before going into the biggest fight of his career. He dropped him after he fought Cotto. He had been stiffing him (financially) and could no longer handle his trainer’s candid advice. Clottey is simply not a serious fighter.

I was thinking about what I’ve seen Clottey do when the going gets tough – headbutts, low blows, phantom injuries, etc.

Yup, I was quoting you, when you said this..... "On top of being the inferior fighter, Clottey changed trainers for no good reason, was lax in training and the camp was a sideshow"

Well **** me..... I was waiting for anything..... when it was plainly obvious to me that Clottey could easily hit/hurt Manny..... I waited..... and I'm still waiting. ANYTHING would have been fine bro..... but it just didn't happen

    WHY ?

Dude, I don’t see a conspiracy here. Clottey is Clottey. He quits when he’s winning so what was he going to do when he had no chance? LOL.

Well, I agree that he is a mental midget, and I do appreciate your humour

But you are glossing over an inaccurate assumption.....

From what I saw..... Clottey did have a chance..... and I know that Clottey realised this, and I also know that he ignored it, for some reason.
    good post bro

Forget it dude. The bottom line is, as I stated long before the fight went down, was that Josh was going to fold like an accordian. That he wasn't gonna do ****. And that's what happened. I've been watching him since 1999, his performance wasn't strange to me at all. In fact, it was exactly what I expected. I'll leave it at that.

Then we will agree to disagree.

But you were wrong, when you..... " stated long before the fight went down, was that Josh was going to fold like an accordian "

He hardly fired a shot, in spite of the fact that he was surprisingly successful whenever he did..... and he finished the fight looking fine, mostly due to the fact that he barely even participated in the contest.

If you are correct, and I doubt that very much....

..... then Joshua Clottey, as well as having very little skill/ringIQ..... also has no heart, and no balls..... and he is the biggest fkn loser that I have ever seen enter a ring.....

1.) how the hell could you watch that dropkick since 1999?
2.) and, how the hell could Stone Roses still have any respect for Clottey?

It is hard to imagine a fighter having that potential, but being that awful, and yet still getting so many opportunities?

And the funny thing is..... I have watched most/all of his "opportunities" myself..... and yet I did not anticipate him having the success that he did, only to watch him abandon the idea of actually attempting to win.

And, by expecting that performance from Clottey as you claim..... you obviously didn't buy the fight?

been reading your posts on this thread about the Pac/Clottey
fight and you pointed out some things and came with it. I think
but don't want to believe that CLottey threw the fight. He made
up so many excuses that it is hard to believe him.

Yup, but what happened to the diahorrea excuse ?

Clottey never even mentioned it during that interview ?

                WTF ?

No, you would be scared..... but Clottey is a very experienced pro-boxer, who has fought many opponents that were more intimidating than Manny, bless him.

Yeah, that's it genius..... he was..... " scared "

The few times that Clottey opened up, were (coincidentally ) the only times during the fight that Manny stopped punching him in the face.

When it became obvious to Clottey that whenever he did something, anything..... Manny would actually stop punching him in the face and cover up..... why did he prefer to let Manny tee-off on him ?

                  Coz he was scared ?

You telling me he was so scared that he forgot how to punch ?

Then you dont know how a fighter thinks bro.

In round 6 (I think it was) when Josh had Manny covered-up on the ropes after landing a couple of good shots..... why did Clottey back up to the centre of the ring and reset, then wait for Manny to come forward and tee-off on him again ?

                  Coz he was scared ?

Why did Clottey ask to fight Margarito and Cotto again ?

                  Coz he's scared ?

Wouldn't ya just quit and start growing potatoes, if you were.... " scared " ?

I wouldnt go that far but that's exactly what I meant. When I said fold like an accordian, I meant he would do NOTHING. The only thing I saw him possibly doing was fouling his way out of the fight. And no, I didn't order it. I knew better.
