I'll take that as a duck
Simply explain Clottey's bizarre performance in context with the "facts" that have been bought to the table, or dispute the "facts"..... plain and simple.Comment

Clottey lost to Tony when Tony was hurt too
had Cotto beat but give away championship rounds
scared stiff by Pac
full of excuses
Clottey deserve no more opportunities without beating someoneComment

What is your point? Re-read what I had posted.. You went off on some other ****. And what facts have you brought?Comment

In fact, jeez TI..... what a duck that was.
I asked you for evidence to prove that Manny counter-punched Clottey as you so strongly suggested, and you posted me this.....
" Manny covering up after clottey hit him? He would back up..... "
EXACTLY !!
So Manny did not miraculously turn into this counter-punching wizard (AS YOU STATED EARLIER) without me noticing, even though I watched that whole fight
You actually just shot yourself in the foot, then accused me of talking ****

Messing up the thread? I'm giving you video of the fight itself. What's silly is how you are the only one arguing this ****.
How's that silly? Clottey was over-matched. I kept it short because you had very few to no valid points.
Changed what subject?
You stated that Manny would cover up and back up whenever Clottey threw punches. What you FAIL to realize is, right after Manny would back/cover up, Manny would follow up with 3-6-9 punch combos that had Clottey backing up and hiding in his shell. That's the point I was getting at.
When did I say this? Show me the post.1.) I stated two very good reasons why Clottey's performance was bizarre
2.) you came back with "oh, he was getting counter-punched"
3.) I said BULL****, and gave you three very good reasons why
4.) Then I asked you for evidence to prove that Manny counter-punched Clottey, and you posted me this.....
What are you talking about?
Why did Mosleys punch output drop after round 2 against Floyd? Cause both Manny and Floyd had them beat.So that is a bull**** excuse as to why Clottey's punch output mysteriously disappeared AFTER ROUND TWO (which is not included in your video assessment for some reason?) even though I clearly stated that AFTER the two punch connect LATE in round two, Clottey was well-aware that he could hurt Manny and back him up.
How?Comment

You said it here.....
Then you tried to support Clottey, when he used the same dishonest excuse.....Clottey said it himself. Whenever he threw .. Pac would tag him back with speed. Clottey didn't want to be another (T)KO in Mannys resume. Before the fight Clottey stated that he wanted to prove Roach wrong by not getting knocked out. He showed it and hid for most of the fight. If he did open up.. he'd get KD just like the rest of them..
Then you tried to back that up by insinuating that Josh wouldn't lie, in spite of him saying so many clearly inaccurate things in that interview.
All of those things have been pointed out already, don't make me post them again T.I.
Then you ONCE AGAIN tried to insinuate that Clottey's resignation to hurt Manny was caused by his fear of being counter-punched. Even though Clottey himself clearly stated that Manny's punches did not hurt him.....
And, you said it again here.....
You asked me for proof..... do you not remember making those 5 posts ?Maybe Manny didn't really hurt Clottey.. but that doesn't change the fact that he hid in his shell practically the whole fight in fear of being (T)KO'd. He admitted it himself when he stated (before the fight) he wanted to prove roach wrong and he would not be (T)KO'd. He proved it by not letting his guard down (besides throwing a potshot or two).
And then you admitted that when Clottey would throw, Manny would cover-up, and back-up.....
Kinda contradictory there ?Last edited by LeadUppercut; 07-03-2010, 03:50 AM.Comment

All I am saying..... is that Clottey put on one-hell-of-an inept performance, for somebody who appeared to be able to hit, and hurt, his opponent at will.
And the backing off in round 6, when he had Manny on the ropes covering up after Clottey had out-punched him..... was more than bizarre.
That just went against every instinct that a "fighter" has.Comment

Agreed. There was something off about him that night. He just didn't have it and whether it was nerves that got to him or whatever, it was quite obvious to anyone that has followed his career for more than the Cotto fight that he had something up with him. Maybe the weight draining for 147 has finally started to effect him badly enough that he just can't do it properly. He didn't have the same amount of time as usual to train, didn't have his coach.Clottey still has my respect. I think it is a good idea for him to move upto 154. He can move himself into title contention again.
Unlike most posters on this site who "pose" as boxing fans, I actually like watching Clottey fight. He just wasn't himself vs Pacquiao. I don't give a fuck about that.
Hopefully we get to see him fight in September.
Anyway, I'm glad he's moving up to 154. He should have a while ago now but all the big fights were at 147. He still deserves another big shot. People are being way too harsh. He still has always made good fights, apart from that single one.
I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing what he does at 154.Comment
