    Joe Louis on HBO

Real Talk Yall should be watching HBO right now the story of Joe Louis. His story is the reason why I don't blame fighters for looking to get their money. Joe Louis was a great fighter but too naive. At the end of the day the fans appreciate your battles but they aren't going to pay your bills. His was the extreme but it still reigns true today.

IMO Joe's story is a god damn tragedy and and disgrace to this nation. He was a hero not only for America but the entire free world and our IRS hunted him down like a dog. The man should have been treated like a king for his entire life for what he meant to the Allies.

You aint lying man. He committed himself to the country but that doesn't mean anything at the end of the day.

Agreed 100%. There is nothing else that can be said in regards to the story of Joe"The Brown Bomber"Louis. Simply an American tragedy the way the United States Government treated a such a strong symbol of the very fiber we base our idealisim of this country off of. Our country is a extremely great country to say the least, but a very sad country all at the same time. And Mr. Barrow's story proves it.

Nowadays Joe would be treated as he deserved to have been treated back then. This country just wasn't there yet and that isn't an excuse, just the sad reality of the situation, unfortunately.

As much as I love being an American. You are absolutely right. This country will chew you up, and spit you out. Without any remorse.

The first thing I thought when congress was debating whether or not to pardon Jack Johnson was that we as a nation owe an apology to Joe first and foremost. Not that what happened to Jack was right, it was wrong, but Jack was an ******* and Joe was a hero and he wasn't treated much better than Jack, 30-40 years later.

I commend Joe man... It takes real character to remain the person he was for so long when they did nothing but berate him for it. Thats why I say these fighters need to put their family first, themselves second, and the fans third. Thats how I feel.

                  dont overdramatize this ****

people in this country are better off than people in most other countries. america is the place for movie stars and athletes, and it's a land of opportunity.

dont take the story of one man and turn it into just another thing. yeah what happened to louis was ****ty, and was wrong, but times were different then, people were different then, the generations have moved on.
