Uhhh...Don't most fighters start off fighting tomato cans? Name one good name on Soto's resume before Solis and Juarez. Everyone starts out somewhere. Risk or no risk, you gotta respect your mandatories.

But like I said in the other thread, I don't even care if Soto and Barrera fight anymore, because the winner HAS to fight the Peterson-Rios winner afterwards or vacate the title, and in that case the Peterson-Rios winner will fight for the vacant title.

Since when do you have to respect your mandatories? It seems like nobody does that.

The last guy I can remember doing it was Margarito when he chose to give Williams a shot despite having a Cotto fight in his pocket.

I'll bet you are rooting for Soto to crush Barrera aren't you? I'm neutral on the fight I guess. Something makes me wanna see Barrera lose this fight even though Soto gets a lot of **** on here. I don't think Barrera would've taken this fight if Soto looked like the one of old to be honest. He's waited until he has slipped. Why do you think he fought Juarez instead. Hell, even I gotta admit your boy JMM ducked the prime versio of Soto. Packy too.

That doesnt matter. Peterson has a fight to take place on the same day or two weeks apart. The winners will fight each other.

Actually Soto was in the running along with Valero to fight Pac in November of 2008. However, Oscar came calling after Floyd retired. And, AT THAT TIME Oscar was perceived as the more dangerous fight compared to Soto and Valero and also more money.

He fought those guys to get his feet wet at 35'. I don't understand why people think he would duck Peterson. What has he done thats so great or scary?

He's a boxer? lol.. maybe thats his first problem. There's a reason why Mexican fighters carry the lower weights and black fighters like Peterson sit on the shelf.

Why would you wanna see a "mover" like Zahir Raheem when you could watch a great boxer with heart like Morales?

Come on man. Peterson needs to man up and learn how to put asses in the seats.

i can see that u haven't seen too many fights of peterson. let me tell ya he's a smart boxer but also puts a lot of pressure on his opponents and unlike his brother he can punch so if soto somehow steps in the ring with him i got peterson by KO/TKO

I think Barrera is going to get a lot of money with this and the retire. i don't think he has much of a chance against Soto, and he didn't look good his last fight.

They can't risk putting Barrera with a top contender before making him fight for a title because he would probably lose now. So they are going to kill this in one blow.
