Trainer Freddie Roach is really hoping that his fighter WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) can fight the winner of the July 31st bout between WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez and former lightweight champion Juan Diaz. In an interview by Socrates Celstial at Philboxing.com, Roach commented on both Diaz and Marquez, saying “He’ll [Khan] knock both guys out. Yeah, they’re [Marquez and Diaz] both washed up. They’re over the hill. Amir Khan will knock both guys out.

Manny fought him at his comfortable weight, and at a younger age (he was in his prime in the first fight, arguably slightly past it in the second), so of course he couldn't KO him. Floyd was throwing single shots all night and didn't take any chances.
Khan would be fighting a 37 year old Marquez at a weight class he's uncomfortable in. I'm sure Marquez-Diaz II will be a war, so that could also affect him. Not to mention Khan will attack him and throw combinations (which Floyd didn't do) so I could see Khan stopping him easily.Comment

it is a little dissapointing that he wants to fight either JMM or Casamayor next...but im sure he wants to fight Maidana soon that is if he carries out what he said he would do after beating malignaggiComment
