They just don't like the Klistchko's, for whatever reason. Vitali fought Arreola in one of the most watched HBO Championship Boxing telecasts ever, and if memory serves correctly, neither brother has aired on HBO since because according to Greenburg, "people can't tell the brothers apart". Well if that were the case, which it isn't but assuming it were, how does that make them unsuitable to be on HBO?

I think part of it is that American's want a Mike Tyson/Kimbo Slice "scary black boogeyman" heavyweight champion, another part is lingering cold war hostility towards "Russians" (I know they aren't Russian, but most don't, another part is that they are gentleman and scholars, and the last part is that they dominate and never even lose rounds.

If HBO thought that a contender had a chance to win, they would air a Klitschko fight, I think. As it stands, HBO knows what everyone else does; that there is no one who can beat them right now.

Obviously HBO should show this fight... but they won't.

It they really wanted Haye-Klitschko then I think they should strongly consider putting it on.

Putting Wlad's fights on HBO and refusing to take Haye's fights might be the extra kick in the ass Haye needs to realize that he isn't the draw, and nobody outside of the UK cares about him fighting anyone but Klitschko.

They put Hopkins/Jones 2 on a PPV FFS!!

The least they can do is show the HW champion of the world and a good unbeaten prospect on HBO

Wow... Great options. Instead of actually voting I'll just post my answer and that is a "Yes." If Areola/Adamek is HBO worthy, then this is definitely HBO worthy.

Kevin Johnson's ridiculous display probably didn't help.

Well, HBO used to show a lot of Lennox Lewis mismatches, remember? Some of his opponents were either shot fighters or not nearly as good as Povetkin: Zeljko Mavrovic, Frans Botha, Andrew Golota, Michael Grant, Henry Akinwande, etc.

                Is there a double standard?

Alexander Povetkin has the best amateur record of all time at super heavyweight. He's a former Olympic gold medal winner who has never been defeated or even down in a fight as a pro. I think he's well qualified for a world title shot, if he loses it will be because Wladimir is very, very good.

I think Wlad should tell HBO to **** off and go to Showtime.

That fits well with option #3, so go vote in the poll.

I think HBO is making a very dumb move. The heavy weight div is very weak and by showing this fight on HBO it allows us americans to see a part of the HW division that we normally dont get to see.
It sucks that because there isnt a bum american HW on the card it wont be shown
I think its a great opportunity for HBO to get us more interested in the international HW division not just american HW

                      You suck Greenberg
