  • Comments Thread For: Steward Thinks He Can Neutralize Pacquiao's Speed

When trainer Emanuel Steward sat down with Miguel Cotto to discuss last November's TKO loss to Manny Pacquiao, the Puerto Rican star told him there were no issues related to weight or being drained from making weight. Pacquiao and Cotto fought at a catch-weight of 145-pounds, and there were some experts who felt the extra two pounds were a factor in the fight. [Click Here To Read More]

Not even Steward can help Cotto in a rematch with Pac IMO..

The trainer can help you in the amateurs allot and somewhat when you hit your mid 20's. At this point and having taken so much damage, there's nothing any trainer can do for Cotto, sad to say.

Gato was actually putting in work, rumors are Cotto dropped him out of the camp due to Gato going hard.

I think Miguel is misspeaking, he might be thinking a little too much about Manny's speed but I don't think it was the speed that destroyed Miguel that night, it was Manny constantly shifting off to the side and then throwing more punches while Miguel was too slow to turn and face Manny to protect himself. He didn't see the punches coming because Manny rarely stood face to face with Cotto that night. So basically it was Manny's awkward style that really did Cotto in, not specifically his speed

it wouldnt matter if steward helps cotto deal with pacmans speed

pacman let cotto hit him up top and to the body and pacman was like "PSSSHH, OK LETS TRADE"

once cotto tasted pacs power he started moonwalking, pacs speed might go down alittle but his power is gonna go up if they fight at 154

Cotto was pretty fast in the first few rounds but after he got hit in the face 100 times he got slower.

There's no need of this rematch, Pacquaio dominated the first fight.

Pacquiao should fight Bradley, Mayweather, or Alexander.

But greedy old Bob Arum won't share the revenue with another promoter.
