I dont think Floyd would demand a catchweight.

He always wins titles at the OFFICIAL weight classes.

No catchweight bull**** like Mr Pacquiao

Let the champion weigh in up to the limit if They chose. Intact it would probably benifit Floyd if Sergio came in heavy. Either way the champ should be allowed to weigh up to the limit if a title is on the line.

There is nothing wrong with agreed compromised weights as long as it is not a strong advantage fo either fighter. So in that regard I am in agreement.

But on a side note I seriously doubt Mayweather would ever fight Martinez.

I think Leonard did that before (made the fight at the SMW limit for the LHW title) when moving up from 160. I didn't see anything wrong with the Pacquiao-DLH meeting point either, since he moved up two weight classes.
you didnt see a prob in DLH fighting at 147 when they were trying to rehydrate him throw IV drip and he was a zombie?

i agree with this. if floyd fights martinez for his title, i would rather martinez weigh in at limit.

Martinez only moved up one class and still was outweighed by Pavlik almost 12 pounds and somehow still managed to win the titles. I think DLH killed himself by agreeing to the weight because he thought Pac would be an easy win, lol tough luck to him. If Floyd wants to fight Martinez (for his 160 pound titles) he should make that weight. I feel Floyd would have an easier time making 160 than 147 to begin with but since he does not really respect the belts anymore, a catchweight would be acceptable should Martinez agree. I know Martinez would agree but still this catchweight stuff is diluting the meaning of the weightclasses IMO.

you cant be serious. do you know how sluggish floyd would be at 160?

Martinez should be able to come in at 160 and floyd weigh whats comfortable to him but over 150

mannys the catch weight king. floyd fight people for titles at their proper weightclass

So you don't think Floyd weighs near 160 or more when not training? I'm saying it would be easier for him training wise to make 160, I made no reference to how fast he would be at that weight. If he has such an easy time making WW, why come in at 147 for a 145 catchweight fight against JMM?
Personally, if he wants to fight Martinez in the first place, he needs to accept the fact that he is going to have to fight him at a weight really close to 160. Manny may be using catchweights but that is on his opponents for agreeing just to make a payday.

Your statements that i embolded show that you are using contradictory statements to support your argument. "Floyd fights guys for their titles at the proper weight limits" Yet, if Floyd wants to fight Martinez for his titles, "
Martinez should be able to come in at 160 and floyd weigh whats comfortable to him but over 150" but i'm assuming you are not really talking about fighting for the titles.

I don't like the idea of catchweights, personally. Whatever they agree to is fine with me, I'd just like to see the fight.
