I think it would be a great match right now, but I doubt that Jr. can make 154 without draining himself.

Well according to Roach he can. They said he wasn't making 160 easily because he was lazy and not committed.

If he stays with Roach and takes this sport seriously, he can make 154 easily and i think that's a better weight for him.

I think Cotto is much better than him at this point but we never know how much this kid can improve.

?????????????. Jr. is young, still has time to learn and get better. Cotto is in decline but still a world class fighter.

I doubt very seriously they would throw Jr in with Cotto right now. I think we see him in a fight or two before this is set up.

I see Cotto fighting 2-3 more times tops.

I agree. What did you think of Jr's performance? Haven't seen it yet.

If you have followed my post about him you know I wasn't drinking the Kool aid but being a trainer myself, I have give it to Roach.

The kid looks like a different fighter. Some say it was just his conditioning but his footwork, movement and selection of punches were impressive to me.

You have to watch the fight, he looks very focused, faster and so accurate. I know he was fighting Duddy and Duddy's defense isn't great but I was looking at his improvements more than anything else.

Interesting. I'm not high on Duddy either (don't think he was any great shakes to begin with and feel he's regressed significantly since the Yori fight) but I'm curious as to how Chavez looked. Will watch tonight. I didn't like what I saw from Cotto against Foreman but I'd be very surprised if they put Chavez in now. Then again, timing is everything - kinda like when Khan fought Barrera (although I wish that fight went on).

Can Chavez make 154? Wasn't he caught using illegal substances to help him lose weight for a 160 fight?

don't worry he's now with ariza the drugs expert so i'm pretty sure they will use those diuretics and not get caught. when u use those diuretics u don't have to kill yourself to make weight so he will not be drained, trust me.
