he says that now but I guarantee he'll start switching up if Manny fights him again at 154lb. Roach is a flip flopper I saw a youtube video about him changing tunes all the time.

As for Cotto, the guy can still beat most at 147lb. He can beat Mosley in a rematch along with Clottey without a headbutt of course for those who said he lost those two fights. He still has it.

I don't know about a whole new fighter. I'm a big Cotto supporter, but I think he looked solid and made some adjustments, but I wouldn't go as far as saying this is a "New" Miguel Cotto.

To me, Pacquiao's style won him that fight, not Cotto's weight.

Nah I don't think so. Perhaps he just wanted to give Cotto a little spur. As to say: "Man, you got a lot of work to do, don't sit back on Foreman's loss, you must improve your style".
I don't believe he actually meant that Cotto is a finished fighter or a bum. Cotto is a great fighter, altho he's not p4p material, but he puts up some terrific fights.

Cotto is the kind of quiet guy who loves his life down in Puerto Rico... Laid-back, low work-rate style, hangin around with pals...
Like I said, he should improve his own style: loose a bit of that old "Boricua warrior" attitude, move more on his feet and take less punches. He's gotta do like that to fight the top of the tops. Move more. Be more humble.
He's a great fighter, but he's no Roberto Duran or J.C. Chavez... He's definately got to be more humble.

But if a guy is coming off losses or brutal fights then they pounce on the oppurtunity and fight him right away.

Pacquiao's "7 titles" thing is a myth anyway because the Cotto fight was at a catchweight, You should not be able to win titles at a catchweight.
          Tell it like it is!

I had to re-read it twice to make sure i wasn't seeing things...

Cotto is a 4 time world champion in 3 different weight divisions. His only 2 losses...Manny, the worlds p4p best...no shame in that loss, and the other to a guy who got caught trying to load his gloves and had his licence box suspended indefinitely in the US.
            http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/spor...ito-wraps.html

Cotto was NOT wieght drained, he fought and beat Clottey at 146. Are you a doctor? How do you know Cotto has brain damage? Do you have proof of this? He was fat, but he was weight drained...which is it?? Make up your mind!
He looked great, but the only thing i can agree with in this self-contradicting post is that he wasn't prepared.

Cotto is a big name in boxing, is a big draw, and has fought anybody put in front of him. To call any boxer with even a decent record a bum is disrespectful to the sport, and Cotto has an excellent record.

People, fans and haters alike want to see him fight. He always does his best to not put on a snoozefest, like they accuse Ward or Floyd of doing in some of his fights if not most. He fights with passion. Love 'em or hate 'em, he's anything but a bum.

I am 100% with Freddie Roach on this video. Everything he said was on point. Cotto's not going anywhere unless he takes it easy and settles for fights like Margo II, Berto, Chavez Jr, Spinks or maybe Mosley II (although this could possibly be a close one).

Guys like Angulo and Kirkland would beat him in Margo fashion, and many other guys and that division would soundly decision him. He should focus on the money fights from here.

I'm not so sure, but i'd like to see a rematch against Mosley to be able to tell exactly where he's at.

I think Roach is using Cotto's name to goad Floyd into making the fight happen. But i wouldn't doubt that Freddie would make this move. But then again, he's been known for flip-flopping,

Yeah, that would probably be a good "barometer" to see where he's at. Mosley still has enough to trouble Cotto and make him use all he's got.

When a 3 time Trainer of the Year speaks........you should all listen. If there was a Trainer of the Decade award....he would win it.

I agree about Cotto as far as the Foreman fight...he has a few fights in him tho...as long as they aren't with Pacquiao...careful matchmaking...

Vanes wouldn't knock Joe Greene out if he tried his hardest tho...
