Because people aren't satisfied with him being a future HOF'er. They want to turn him into an ATG and call hima top 50 all-time and all this other nonsense.

The 168 lb division is at its most high now. Back when Cal was there and even before that with Lindell Holmes, there was not much interest at 168. Toney got the word out about 168, and Cal made the division popular...

I think he’d naturally be more popular and more respected were he American. But it’s pretty inconsequential, he’s British. Those who hate him REALLY hate him and those who love him, like him.

Personally i thought he was every bit as good as HE claimed he was, however, the simple fact it that we’ll never really know as he didn’t fight the fights he needed to in order to silence his doubters.

A truly great boxer who was never truly tested.

No. I would rate/respect him more if he didn't suck.

I think Calzaghe was a great champ and even tho he fought some big names @ the end of his career He still won and thats all that mattered. After Lacy, akward Bika,Manfredo, champ Kessler, champ B-Hop,RJJ. Not to mention Eubanks back in the day.Reads like a H.O.F. resume to me...utmost respect given

Nope I don't even like the UK that much but he's still one of my favorite boxers.
