Well 24 but he has been training since a kid most likely. My point is he is not a complete noob when it comes to boxing. I understand the need to step up in competition but who does he have to fight in order to be ready to step in the ring with Cotto?
Cotto did not fight anyone close to Pac's speed and agility before he stepped in the ring with him and likewise, Michael Jennings had never faced anyone equivalent to Cotto before he stepped in the ring with him yet he was chosen to fight Cotto- the same with Alfonso Gomez.
Chavez would easily defeat Cotto. Cotto's body shots would have no effect against Chavez. Chavez does more sit ups and crunches than Cotto could even imagine.

Lol. People see a good performance and give them a chance againest Cotto.
What most people dont realize Cotto had a great amatuer background. And to add to that he was brought up and developed perfectly in his young day. Cotto has the experience, a new refreshing corner, the power, skills to completely dominate Chavez. Chavez has no chance againest Cotto at this stage - what does Chavez have that Cotto HASN'T already seen or dealt with in his career yet? Nothing. Who has Chavez faced anyone close to the fighter Cotto is? No one. So Chavez finally got in shape and learn to box a bit, so ? His lack of experience, real skill set, no proof of deep waters in hsi career yet will hurt him badly agaienst Cotto OR any top fighter/champion. IM out. peace.
do you think hes ready??and wtf is the wbc silver belt???lol
We will never know until he steps in there with a live opponent, maybe if he fights Pavlik we will see where he is at, or Angulo, or maybe Cintron. Those are some good tests right there. Duddy was supposed to lose, he's just a journeyman.
