    hmm

Jones wasn't hit on the chin vs Johnson, it was in the temple. If Corley was 20 lbs bigger he would have stoned Cotto just like Jones had been stoned is my point, which means anyone who says Roy's chin was weak after all his body went through and yet say Cotto has a good chin are well...hypocrites.

Anywho I think Cotto's a good fighter, just some food for thought. Maybe some of you will actually think before you speak when you mention Roy's chin. Now on with the show, don't wanna make this an RJJ thread really.

Good post, Roys chin wasnt a "weak" chin, Tarver hit him with a solid shot and it sent him down.. it happens. After all of those years ontop of the P4P list.. Jones must of had some sort of chin (even though he didnt get hit often) and on the topic of Cotto being a great fighter.. sure he can be great he has talent but theres no way that I see he even becomes close to what Roy Jones was/is.

To say he nearly had Mayweather KO'd is an overstatement. I just watched that round again and Mayweather covered up for like a couple of seconds and leaned out of the way of everything else. If he was as hurt as about to be KO'd he would have covered himself up completely or try to tie Corley up. He was no where near being KO'd and the reason why he was on the ropes for the amount of time he was on the ropes is because Corley was holding and shoving him into it.

Another thing is the phrase" HAVING A GOOD CHIN" DOESN'T ONLY REFER TO THE CHIN of the fighter...it refers to being able to take shots to the head in general. Some of you may be confused or something, by when people say Morales or Klitschko have an excellent chin after being hit by a heavy puncher directly on the chin, that's true, however being able to take any head barrage shows the mark of a good chin.

He wasn't hurt like in danger of being KO'd hurt...but the punch definitely hurt him. If Corley lands one more big punch in the ensuing 15 seconds after that I think Floyd was on his way down or would have been in serious trouble.

I thought Corley stunned him in the 3rd and legitimately hurt him in the 4th.

I got a question that kind of has something to do with this thread..

If Corley landed a shot like he landed on Mayweather or a shot that he landed on Cotto against Zab Judah, would Zab have been KTFO?

THANK YOU!! Some people make way to many excuses for there fighters. Cotto lover now say "no he was hit in the temple not the chin so he has a good chin" The frase about having chin is not literaly the CHIN.

Anyways, the easiest way to KO sumone out is the chin, your Temple is suppose to be way stronger than your chin. The top of the head is the stongest part your body. I dont see how people defend cotto's "ability to get rocked" by stating he was hit on the temple and not the chin. I would rather get hit in the temple.

Thats why you see fighters coverimng their chins with their gloves or tucking it under their shoulder. Look at Mayweather, and Oscar They leave their Temples wide open but they try to cover their chin with their shoulder

Maybe Corley is just a horrible finisher. One thing i really dont like about Corley is how he just takes a knee, i remember he did it like 2-3 times against mayweather and some were not counted as KD's , and than again with Cotto. What kinda **** is that?
