I'm a big fan of Bute and Brinkley has earned his shot but I would rather not have HBO waste money from the budget on this pointless fight.

Bute by however he wants it.

Some of you amaze me, this will be a damn good fight. Seems like a fighter has to have star shine as an HBO regular for him to make an exciting fight.

Hopkins is trying to fight him and no matter how much people want Hops to retire that right there proves that there are guys out there for Bute to fight and he just isn't stepping up to the plate.

I will watch if it's on HBO or Showtime. Problem is the best Super Middles are tied up in the tournament (except Allen Green who is pure garbage). This is a way to stay busy and sharp. By the end of the year, one of the best of the Super Six (namely Andre Dirrell) might be out of the tournament and that would be a great fight for Bute. However, I am in the minority thinking that Dirrell's stick/jab might be too much for Ward and might beat him to the punch and win. Ward likes to jump in and bull forward but what if someone is throwing a hard, consistant jab. We have yet to see that...

It's not like Bute has a lot of options untill some guys are eliminated in the s6. I hope Bute fights one of the 2 who's elimated bt x-mas. Not Green if he's one of them though lol.

Hopkins is probably 'trying to fight him' about as much as he was trying to fight Adamek: make a ridiculous lowball offer and refuse to accept any alternative.
