I don't buy the steroids thing at all. **** that, Toney beat Ruiz clearly. It had NOTHING AT ALL to do with steroids. I'm not at all convinced that steroids are performance enhancing for boxing. And Toney obviously didn't know he was doing anything illegal. Otherwise, he'd have got someone in his camp to take the piss test for him.

Toney's skill as a counterpuncher is enough to beat Klitschko. Byrd is a tougher match I think. Only way Klitschko beats him is because Klitschko really is too big for him. Klitschko throws wide ass hooks that Toney would laugh at and counter with ease I think.

As has been said over and over, Toney has the most skill at heavyweight. Only way he loses there is because of the size difference. And he hasn't carried the power to heavyweight. Maybe that'll change if he gets into better shape, but I doubt it.

O trust me I understand that but if beating a unmotivated out of his prime mike tyson makes him a contender wouldnt you think the man handling that he recieved from vitali klitschko would cross out that rise to contender and drop him back to the average fighter he is.

You would think it would but everyone right now is looking for someone to spark a fire in the HW div. Everyone knows Tyson was done after the Lewis fight but people are still intrested in seeing him b/c he is one of the only HW fighters that can actually show us some excitement in the division.

Well this was already discussed ,chewed and pit out and I don't want to open a new can of worms...

Anyhow, there are different types of steroids, once you take for body building, and once that athletes take for endurance. Also if you don't burn (work out) you gain FAT like crazy...

I'm not saying Toney can't beat Ruiz, I'm sure he can beat him 10 out of 10 times.. What I'm saying is that Toney kept going like a monster for full 12 rounds w/o showing any sign of fatigue and perhaps it was the cause of the 'roids.

To answer your question "Besides when was the last time you saw Taney not able to make 12 rounds" why don't you answer mine.. When was the last time you saw Toney fight at 233?

            More GARBAGE from this idiot.

Toney was 'going like a monster'?

            What fight were you watching?

Toney fought at a very measured pace, throwing only when he had to, and waiting to counter.

The notion that he fought at a torrid pace is laughable.

He wasn't on preformance enhancers, it was a substance that his body produces naturally while on certian meds, and IF someone is taking it as a preformance enhancer, it's a GAINER. IE to GAIN mussle.

He was out of shape and soft, and still clearly used his ring savvy, countering skills, and defense to beat Ruiz very systematiclly at a slow and methodical pace over 12 rounds.

The only thing Toney had 'gained' was a bunch of belly fat.

He was not pumped up like he was juicing and lifting weights.
If you really think that Toney did not take those steroids to help him compete, then you must be dumber than I am! You need to wake up to reality buddy!

Yea. saying that toney fought like a monster for 12 rounds is ridiculous. all toney did was roll when ruiz threw the jab and threw a right hand counter over the top. he didn't go all out in agression for any round

toney can win at heavy for the same reason as byrd, they're both skilled boxers... but byrd's struggling with any marginaly talented heavyweight right now... i'd like to see toney against some more top guys to see how he does, but i'd take toney over rahman, mccline, TOS... i'm not sure about byrd, brock or brewster...

What??? He wasn't going like a monster for 12 rounds. Maybe in the Jirov fight yeah, but not against Ruiz. To imply that the roids had anything to do with his win is asinine. James Toney could fight for 20 rounds on a whim. I don't think you know what you're talking about....if you think they helped his stamina then you really don't know James Toney.
